New Items: March Recolors!

Hey kiddos, how y'all been? Busy, right? I can feel that. As you can see, Fray is off outfitting any and all Kith for glorious battle. Lil' guy just can't bring himself to make Andre take him out into the Tatters with Ms. Ripper. Still, he wants to do his part. I'm cutting him a break and introducing our own dear stopboorider's new friend, the Matcha Frappe Gemwing. Ahh, what a nice relaxing smell.

Hn? Why y'all looking at me like that? Where was I? Didn't Club tell you? ...Huh? She was worried about me? I left her a note right on the fridge before I left. I guess it might have had some steak stains on it... maybe it got Junior'd. Whoops.

Well we can get into where I was AFTER I introduce all our lovely new user submissions. Don't worry, it is a small but quality list.

Site Contest Winners: March 2020

Pythia: Chrysa! Chrysa! Oh, what a glorious day! Are you ready?

Pythia: For announcing the March Site Contest winners, of course! Three cheers for Magic Mage Armor by MagpieM in the Clothing Design category, and Licorne Battle Quotes by Rayne in the Battle Design category! Ooh, they were superb, weren't they?

I suppose, if you account for their inexperience. They're all still unpredictable in battle. Seems rather haphazard, if you ask me. But it seems that they're mostly still alive.
Not just alive - living to the fullest! Squeezing the juice out of life!

Those Snarls will be squeezing the juice out of their lives if they don't shape up. Still, since those winners both earned the most Cheers on their entries, they'll each receive the In the Spotlight Achievement, the Spotlight T-Shirt and the Spotlight Showcase. Furthermore, as promised, the winner of the Battle Contest has received 100 Gems, and the winner of the Clothing Design Contest has won a Custom Clothing Submission.

I’m moving the winning threads to the Archived Contest Winners Forum, while all other entries will be moved to the Past Contest Entries Forum.

Also, I've foreseen that Zephyr will be hosting the April Site Contest, with the theme of Battle to the Golden Colosseum. The categories will be an Art Contest and a Gallery Contest. It will begin on April 13th, so take the time to prepare. Show off galleries full of your spoils of war, or your battle transformations, or favorite new items, or… Curse it, I don't know what your Remnants value. Likewise, any artwork is fine, as long as it has some relation to our Colosseum or the battles that surround us. Doubtless Zephyr will enthuse regardless.

Don't ask me any more about it. I'm not one for cheering.

Code Update: 3/23/20

Some more bug fixes are here today! Take a look at the list below.

Continued battles should no longer give the Snarls bonus turns at the start of the second or third continuous battle.

The incorrect win/loss counts, including those caused by spending a Gem to get a negative Loss count, as well as those caused by losing in a continued battle, should be fixed now. We'll need to keep a close eye on this, as we found a couple places that could have been the source of this problem, but the battle system is so complex we might have missed a possible source. If you notice a mismatch in your future Win/Loss count, please let us know in the Technical Support Forum!

We've added a red Forfeit button to the bottom of the page for easier exiting from battle.

We've tentatively added the tabs to enemy turns, so that you can keep track of Effect and Move countdowns even when it's not your turn. You may need to clear your cache and/or cycle through a few battles before this fully takes effect, until then, you might notice it only happening inconsistently on enemy turns. If it is still inconsistent after clearing your cache and battling each Snarl for a few turns, please let us know in the Technical Support Forum so we can investigate.

We've added more rigorous checks to prevent duplication issues caused by multiple clicks, which many keyboards and mouses utilize even when the user appears to have clicked only once. This should solve the item duplication bug as well as the spacebar-casuing-multiple-turns bug.

Edit: Since this update has fixed the major problem preventing people from continuing a battle, the reward amount of Loose Shards is being adjusted to a lower number.

Code Update: 3/18/20

Hey everyone, I've got another code update for you today. Last night's unintended update was still missing a few key pieces that were needed on the backend, so we've added that code to the site. This should fix the imbalanced numbers for the Snarls' Attack and Defend Strategies, but everything else that was changed is hidden away in the admin side of things.

Edit: Oh, I almost forgot! The countdown on Strategies and Effects have been synced so that they should now count down the same amount on each turn (both your turns and the enemy's turns).

However, one crucial part of this update: all previous battles will need to be forfeited or you will likely find errors when trying to complete them.

This update touches ALL of the calculations used in battle, so it's very, very likely that you will need to end any ongoing battles and start new ones that utilize the new code. If you try to continue a battle from before this update, you may be able to complete it successfully, but I can't make any guarantees. In the future I'll be adding a simple way to wipe all beta battle data, so that when something big like this happens, I can simply start everyone fresh on the new version.

Please note that it may take up to an hour for these changes to fully take effect on your account, so try clearing your cache after 4:15PM CHT if you encounter any issues that might be caused by the servers rebooting.

Feel free to ask questions in this thread, but please report any issues in the Technical Support Forum.
(Do not report issues with battles that were started before this update. You will simply have to forfeit those battles.)
