Tattered World Staff Farewell
Posted on August 29, 2025I've spent almost a third of my life creating Tattered World, and though this story must now come to an end, I'm so glad I got the chance to make it. I do feel that I succeeded in our tagline: "Make friends, make choices, make a difference."
I've made lifelong friends here, and even found a family here. It's thanks to Tattered World that I met the love my life and am now happily married to [@Dread], in case you didn't know that I've been flirting with her as Celariel all these years!
I hope that my own Project H.O.P.E. has helped you, in ways big or small. My love for creation, and my heartfelt belief that creating is our most positive power of connection to the real world, has always motivated me to share stories that can reach others, like a guiding star to get through dark times. Many parts of our real world feel dark right now, but for me, that is not something new, and stories have always been my solace. I hope that you found meaning in our story while it lasted, and will be inspired to create your own projects to heal and help and hope long after Tattered World is gone.
My next project with Mythmakers is a Dungeons & Dragons product line called Realmsbound, which you can follow on our company website. We're going to explore the Forgotten Realms under the direction of its creator, Ed Greenwood, into an expansive addition to the upcoming Adventures in Faerun book by Wizards of the Coast! Whether you're familiar with the setting or entirely new to the game, we'd love to have you join us on this next journey. There are magical lands to explore, challenges to face, secrets to discover, and heroes to become!
Speaking of heroes, there's one last batch of Kith transformations that I'm excited to release for you all today. Heroic Kith Stages have been added to the Heroic Medallion for the Enchanted Forest, Golden Colosseum, and Snow Globe! Once upon a time, we planned to introduce Heroic forms for ALL the Kith in the epic lead-up to confront the Unmaker, but these are the ones we managed to get done before our timeline changed! You still have until October 20th, 2025 to enjoy Tattered World and find closure before the site shuts down permanently. I hope you will continue to make friends, make choices, and make a difference - both here on the site and wherever else your path leads.
