Hopes for Fears by Taiga won the Gallery Spotlight! If Snarls are truly negative emotions, ripped and coiled from Hope, then perhaps the first step to destroy them is to destroy these emotions themselves.

New Hairstyles: Wind Blown!

Blown Away

Man, things at the Salon have been busy lately due to all this seasonal wind! It has, however, got me thinking - I'm the kind of man that values movement, and what brings movement to so much of the natural world? That's right, darlings, wind. So what if I could harness that life and freedom and just inject it into someone's personal style? Might not combat the real wind blowing your hair about everywhere, but it is certainly a start!

Now, let's get things moving with the shortest of the new hair styles today, the Windblown Reserved Hairstyle and Windblown Pixie Hairstyle. The nice thing about short hair is no matter how much you whip it around, you won’t end up eating it yourself! Both of these are just long enough to give you some movement without being long enough to touch your shoulders.

If you’re looking for a medium-length look, might I interest you in either the Windblown Fluffy Hairstyle or Windblown Messy Hairstyle? These two looks show of the dichotomy of the wind blown effect: gentle verse realistic; light breeze versus the power of a storm.

And of course it might take a storm to get these long styles moving: the Windblown Wavy Hairstyle and Windblown Wild Hairstyle! Wild shows off the power of the tempest, and I think would look good for all you magic-castors I've seen running around since the Enchanted Forest was discovered. Wavy is a more relaxed look, but also has a lot more weight to the hair itself if you’re looking for a more regal appearance.

So what do you all think? Are you ready to get caught up in the whirlwind of my inspiration?

Update Time!

See what I did there? It's time for an update to our timers!

For one thing, we've revamped the Shop Restock timer to automatically refresh the tab, and to apply the timer onto each individual item as it stocks! Now you can see exactly how long an item will be available in the shop until the next restocking.

We've also added a site clock to the sidebar so that you can tell what time it is in Hope by our new measurement, "Current Hope Time (CHT)". (Psst, it's Eastern.) Hopefully this helps coordinating times with friends in different time zones!

I have also removed the Decline button from Unique Quests, so there should be no more accidental declining! Yay!

Please note that it may take a few minutes for these to display accurately, as they have to sync up with the server time. Thank you!

New Items: Meals!

Home Cooked Comfort

As much as I love a quick n’ easy meal, there’s something so nice about sitting down to a proper meal. I guess it reminds me of when I was still living at home with my folks and we'd have a big dinner every night. While I don't have the time to cook like this just for myself that often, it’s a great pick-me-up when I'm feeling down.

First off, I’ve got some really easy recipes for Grilled Pork Chops and Grilled Trout that only take one or two ingredients to make. Flavorful but not too complex, both of these recipes make a great main dish that you can pair with many different types of sides.

On the more complex side I’ve got another fish dish, Fried Cod, which does take some effort to deep fry but that flaky goodness is worth it. And if you don't want to bother with a deep fryer, there is always the pan-fried but equally delicious Trout Parmesan.

Of course not everyone eats fish, so I’ve got a vegetarian meal here as well. To start, you’ll need to pick up some Lentils from Robin’s Greenhouse Garden and once you have those ready, you’ll need to make some Vegetable Consomme from some soup stock. Once you’ve got that, you’re ready to make a steaming hot bowl of Lentil Soup, which is perfect on a cold winter's day. Mmm...

If any of these sound good to you, swing on by the General Store and pick up the recipe cards for yourself!
