Toying with Your Hearts
Hey folks! Guess what?! Go on, guess!
That's right! The greatly anticipated expansion to the Arcade still isn't done. Whoops! Look, construction takes, like, way longer then I thought. And man, vending machines are just as heavy as they look. But my dear friends this big old rain cloud has a silver- no, GOLD lining! I've decided that since my stock room is jam packed (to the point that I've been keeping the over flow in my room…) it’s time to release some of this stuff to the masses. I mean, guys, I literally have a stack of boxes that can reach my ceiling next to my bed. The smell of crayons alone has been invading my dreams in the weirdest ways.
So Piper, you may be asking yourself, how many new toys do you have for us today? Four? Eight?
HA! Ha I say! Try thirty one on for size. That's right. You heard me. A big old three-one! I'm nearly DOUBLING my current available stock! I'll give you all a moment to bask in awe and admiration, go on, soak it all in. It's fantastic, I know, but tell me anyway.
I'm going to break down the new toys into sets so the list is a little easier to digest. To start I'm going to bring out these fantastic new sticker sets. I got sticker sheets made of none other than our own amazing Kith! Each species gets their own sheet, so we’ve got Blepper Stickers, Bumblebunee Stickers, Ferrec Stickers, Flipperfin Stickers, Gemwing Stickers, Lumence Stickers, Pluff Stickers, and the ever tardy Scalyx Stickers. If you’ve got a favorite type of Kith, I’ve got a sticker for you! Huh? Iris? Well she is less a type of Kith and more a person who I'd have to pay royalties to for the use of her likeness soooo... That is eight new items right there - and we are just getting started.
Next up is a bunch of new crayon sets! Was the basic box just too basic? Was the deluxe set too intimidatingly large? Well do I have the new colorful wax sticks for you! Check it: we got Metallic Crayons, Glitter Crayons, Pastel Crayons, Grayscale Crayons, Glow in the Dark Crayons and Skin Tone Crayons now, which is another six new toys for your playtime. In the same vein as the crayons, I've got a bunch of new marker sets too! Pastel Marker Set, Grayscale Marker Set, Glow in the Dark Marker Set and Skin Tone Marker Set. These are a nice in-between from the original set and the deluxe; just the right number of markers, if you ask me. That means these four new sets brings our running total up to eighteen.
And you might have already guessed where I am going with this, but I've also got a bunch of new watercolor sets! Pastel Watercolors, Grayscale Watercolors, Glow in the Dark Watercolors and Skin Tone Watercolors will be joining the original two watercolors and bringing us up to twenty two new toys.
Lastly for our creative toys, I have the brand-new color pencil sets! There are Colored Pencils, Pastel Colored Pencils, Grayscale Colored Pencils, Glow in the Dark Colored Pencils and Skin Tone Colored Pencils for all your coloring needs. Sorry, pencil sharper not included. Dad was worried about giving out sharp things to some of the Kith.
My last set is a bit of a grab bag, but each and every toy is just as fun as the last. The Deputy Badge, White Puzzle, Miniature Bed, and Party Hat round out the rest of the list to reach my whopping grand total of thirty one! Phew! What a list! That was almost as tiring as it was to stock all these into the Arcade! Wow, I can finally see out of the window in my room again. Read More »
Robin's Hourly Quests
Singing in the Sunshine~
Robin’s got a beautiful singing voice, you know. Find out more about her in Robin’s Hourly Quests starting today! Remember that it may take an hour or two for these to show up on your account.
At long last, we finally have all of the Hourly Quests uploaded onto the site. WHEW! I’m sorry it took so much longer than we expected. It’s hard to change your plans around bugs. We’ve made a lot of improvements to our workflow since then, so that now we don’t have writing & art being done out of order before code can accommodate it. Hopefully that smoothes out our future releases for the site into something more regular and predictable.
Since it’s come up more than once, I changed the losing text on Kei’s Let’s Make A Bet Hourly Quest. It now reads: “H..how…? HOW DID SHE BEAT ME?! I'm so sorry, I... I lost... all our Shards…” I hope that helps clear up some confusion.
Many thanks to Winter for the suggestion of a Kith name change item. The Headmaster’s Office now carries a Name Tag that you can use to edit your Kith’s name one time. Please note that this applies to your Active Kith when used, and cannot be transferred! You have to use another Name Tag if you want it on another Kith in your Catalog.
Speaking of suggestions, I’ve heard a few requests for a Staff Q&A. What do you think about a Q&A on Monday, October 3, at 9:00 PM Eastern? I want to try to let anyone interested offer questions. If you can’t make it, pile up your questions in this thread and I’ll try to get through as many as I can! Read More »
New Items: Shoes!
Pre-chewed for Your Convenience
Well it seems my Tailored Fashions had a late-night invasion by a pack of impulsive Scalyx… Now I need to move out some new stock quickly before they get ruined. I don't know why I am surprised by the fact that Scalyx are hungry for shoes, but they are.
They tore up the Ballet Slippers and stole the ribbons for their nests. You might still see some of the ribbons stuck on my bushes outside. Then they went for the Boots which provide them a good rugged material to gnaw on. Once their jaws were tired from the hard work, they started in on the soft and cushy Flip Flops. Needless to say those didn't last long before they turned their eyes on my beautiful new High Heels. They seemed particularly fond of the hard heels on those. Then last of all they claimed the Sandals, not for chewing, oh no. They wore those out on their horns for some reason.
Oh, my poor shoes...
Thankfully, they didn't get my whole stock, so I've got the rest of them up on the shelves out of reach. If you've gotten tired of your loafers or your tennis shoes, come give these a look. They are all quite comfy and can go with a number of different looks. Um, if you find a pair a bit chewed up, I'll give you a discount. Read More »
Nic's Hourly Quests
Busy, busy, busy
Whew! It’s been a busy day behind the scenes, but I bring you some happy news: Nicolas’ Hourly Quests are available now! Remember that it may take an hour or two for those to show up on your account. Our kind Headmaster has a lot to do, so your help is always appreciated!
Some users pointed out that the Hourly Quests with cooked food requirements were not granting enough Shards compared to their ingredient cost. That’s been fixed, and the Robin Hourly Quests that I’m uploading should help reduce that cost as well. Expect to see her Hourly Quests later this week!
We’ve come up with a solution for the Tattertints. It’ll take some time, but I expect to see that up before we move to Open Beta. Thanks again for all your feedback! Read More »
New Items: Glasses!
Near and Far(sighted)
I’ve heard a request for glasses, and I admit that even I have trouble threading the smallest of needles. I’ll let you in on my little cheat for this: I keep a Monocle in my sewing desk at Tailored Fashions. Handy, right? A little magnification can go a long way sometimes. Of course, some people need vision correction all the time and most people would like to be able to see out of both eyes at once, so I've been designing fashionable new glasses for everyone to enjoy; prescription lenses optional.
Here I have a collection of plastic frames, each in fourteen of the usual colors. To start we have the understated but classic Refined Glasses. From there we have the much rounder Oval Glasses which have a nice strong, thick band for those of you with more rowdy Kith. If you want something even bigger and more outlandish I have the Cat Eye Glasses - in hindsight, maybe I should have called them Ferrec Eye Glasses… oh well the tags are already made. Last up for the plastic frames is the retro-classic Hipster Frames. They were quite popular back in the day, or so Miranda tells me from all her reading.
Over here I also have a smaller collection of hard wire frames for those that want a more subtle look. They come in only one color, but the Narrow Wireframes, Large Wireframes, and Round Wireframes are all quite sturdy despite how thin they are. One warning: tiny claws can still scuff the lenses either way, so you may want to watch out if you have Kith prone to greeting you face-first. Read More »
