Thank you! We've been working night and day - it makes my heart sing to see everyone so excited to get some wholesome garden dirt on their hands! And scales and wings, and… Ooh, you know what I mean, tee hee~
So I’m proud to announce, at long last, that the rumors are true…
GARDENING IS HERE!
Now, this is just a first test of the feature, so you'll only be able to use the Beta Seed and Beta Fertilizer during this experimental phase. Isn't this little seed so cute? You'll want to click on the seed, then choose a plot of dirt to plant it in - oh, but wait! If you have some fertilizer that you want to use, you need to put the fertilizer down FIRST! That's very important for healthy seeds! This Beta Fertilizer will double the Beta Plants you get from growing each seed. We made it out of transformed Snow Globe magic… Isn't its glow beautiful? Ahhhh~
Right, Robin, stay focused on the lesson. So! Once you've got your plot of dirt fertilized and seeded, you need to water that sweet little seed! You can water each seed every 5 minutes, and your seed needs two waterings to grow healthy and delicious! If you forget to water your seed twice within the 10 minutes it takes to grow, it will wilt and die!! Noooo!! If only I could save wilted plants with my tears...!
Beneath this awful Scourge's scorching heat, these helpless Beta Plants will also wilt if you don't harvest them within 30 minutes. So be sure to check back in before it's too late to save your precious plants!! I know that not everyone can afford to work in the garden on such a steady timetable, so I promise that we'll have a variety of growth times for seeds once we defeat the Scourge and leave the testing phase. These pretty plants are just our beta buddies!
Tomorrow we'll share lots of polls and plans for the future of Gardening, and I can't wait to hear what you all think~ Tee hee!
Until then, let's do our best to hunt down any pesky bugs in the garden! Please report any problems on the Gardening page so we can get those pests squished ASAP! What we need to do in the meantime is just make sure we're using enough magic to turn all this tasty homegrown produce into something capable of saving the Snow Globe - GASP, no, I bet it can save ALL the Remnants! Ooh, gardening really does it all~
Ready, Zephyr?

YEAH! I’ve been snacking nonstop and saving up all my energy for this, haha…
By the sweetness of Spring!!
![]()
Transformed and at your service, everyone! Now I’ve just gotta channel all of the crystalline magic of the Snow Globe that we’ve gathered, letting it transform freely into its true forms - there! Plants exploding from the earth, growing every which way - but don't worry, I won't go too fast! I've overgrown way too many gardens with my enthusiasm, and my Kith have been scolding me to make sure I don’t do it again…

Sorry to interrupt. Zephyr, we need you back on the front lines, immediately.
If we’re going to channel this “expressive” gardening magic through the Tatters to the Snow Globe, splitting apart the Scourge, we need to do it now.
Because just as predicted…

Deception is back. Again.

Okay! Students of Hope, it's time for us to divide and conquer! Which path will you choose?
Some of us will keep battling to put this monster down, while the rest of you are gardening frantically - that way, we’ll be draining its magic on two fronts, breaking it apart! If our theories are correct, this should be enough to disperse it for good.
One final time… LET’S GO!

The Scourge of Deception has come roaring back - but this time, battle isn’t the only way to weaken it!
Introducing our newest feature: GARDENING!
As Robin explained above, this is only a beta test, so the functionality is very limited. We want to make sure this feature will scale appropriately when the whole site is using it, and won't cause a host of bugs or crash the servers or anything like that. Once we've thoroughly tested this phase, we'll start introducing more complex visual code to make the gardening process even more intuitive, and bring in a variety of new seeds and fertilizers to customize your garden just the way you want it. And eventually, every Remnant will have its own garden!
Tomorrow I will post a separate Forum Feedback thread with lots of polls and plans for the future of Gardening, so please save your feedback for that thread so we can keep it all tidy in one place for review! [@Savvy]'s already got some amazing visual updates in progress! We have lots of fun ideas to share and we’d love to get your opinions before I start making big changes. However, if you notice any problems or bugs, please report them in the Technical Support Forum and I will get to work on fixing those ASAP!
Beneath the spoiler tag I'll detail everything I can think of about this new Gardening system. Please note that Gardening Levels will be reset to 0 when the beta test ends!
As a final reminder, the whole site will have to work together to defeat the Scourge of Deception one last time! Every time you defeat a piece of the Scourge in battle, the damage you deal will reduce the Scourge's power on the Event page. The Scourge seems to mimic the total ability scores of any Kith that faces it in battle, so the more powerful your Kith, the more damage you can deal! You can also damage the Scourge by completing the new Event Quests and by harvesting Beta Plants! (Note that the new Quests may take up to 24 hours to appear on your account.)
As of right now, the Scourge is STILL too massive to untangle or bind… but with the end of the battle in sight, I wonder if that will change? Hmmmmm…
The date of the final event news post will be up to all of you: it’ll go live during business hours after the Scourge is defeated! GOOD LUCK!

PLANTS!!!!
Oh my gourd [@Robin] I'm SO EXCITED!! I love gardening! Can't wait to sow some seeds. One day I'll plant a swath of mint and only mint, just like my garden at home. I'm sure my kith are excited too! Not just Lithops who is, by all accounts, a plant itself...
Speaking of which, where's your kit- I mean cabbage. Cabbadonia would probably love to not be missing just so that she can grow her own cabbage army!

I'm sure if we really dig deep this Scourge can finally be put to rest!
