Static listened intently as Turing explained over the sound of her fans what was and wasn't allowed, pausing for a long time (for her) at the mention of a haircut, and then adding that she did in fact make modifications to herself (which was the reason for the restrictions) before immediately taking the first available opportunity to disengage from the conversation. Static slowed to a stop, standing a little behind the group as they approached the building. He didn't even pay attention to what they were doing of what Luci was saying. He was thinking. Discretely, he took out his phone. He sighed and put his phone away.

The rest of the party agreed to follow Luci, continuing to chatter about robot things (one of which Static internally squinted at before deciding you know what nah that's valid) He did stop when TuAda continued speaking though. "They don't let you change what you look like??" he asked incredulously, before realizing he was falling behind and jogged a lil to get back in his place in the group. "I mean.. that doesn't make a lot of sense?? Why aren't you allowed to modify yourself. You said you're in a world with humans, humans do that all the time. Not like, huge modifications but like, tattoos and piercings and stuff. Why should you be denied that..?" He looked up warily at the building Luci pointed out. Exactly none of these looked structurally sound, and honestly there were several other reasons to be hesitant as well. Possibly hostile wildlife, maybe even angry spirits seeking vengeance for a death they don't understand. He missed the caves. They came with their own set of dangers, but they were dangers he knew.

Static couldn't help but grin a little as Ada chimed in. Yesss she took the bait. He listened with interest as she explained that she was named after Alan Turing (makes sense), implying that she was given a male identity before she really had an identity at all. big mood! His sensitive ears caught the increased sound of a computer fan as she nonchalantly continued that she really doesn't know much about this sort of thing, it probably doesn't apply to her since she's not your standard kind of being, etc etc etc. also a big mood. He opened his mouth to respond, when Pellam confusedly brought up night vision (??) which immediately caught Ada's attention, and Luci looked uncomfortable and indirectly asked if they could leave. Static glanced back and forth between her and Ada, but the latter was already deep in conversation with Pellam. Another time, maybe. Rome wasn't built in a day. He gave Luci a reassuring smile. "Yeah man, that sounds cool. I'll follow you."
