Forum Feedback: Custom Recolors

This time we want your input on an issue that we've discovered with Custom Clothing Items, specifically the 200 Gem recolor discount that Club offers. We've realized that this discount pricing undercuts the value of any Premium items that cost more than 200 Gems, meaning it's more cost-effective to submit a recolor than to actually purchase the original item. Though this has not been intentionally exploited by any of you (for which we are very grateful! Thank you!) we want to close this loophole before it could potentially get out of hand. (Please note that we will not make any pricing changes until June 1.)

The simplest solution would be to remove the recolor pricing for items, returning all Custom Clothing to a flat price of 500 Gems, but we understand that would really hinder creativity when it came to adding your own personalized touches with a recolor, so we'd like to get your feedback on what you think would work as a solution here. Managing the edit/approval process for Custom Clothing is exhausting enough already, so we also decided that a pricing system where Club has to check each original item's shop price and match it for recolors would be too much additional work on her. Within our staff brainstorm about this issue, the most popular solution we came up with was a three-way split for recolors:

200 Gems for a Shard item recolor
300 Gems for a Gem/Premium item recolor
500 Gems for a background item recolor like Scrying Spells

In the interest of clarity, our goal here is to match up the item costs more fairly so that recolors don't end up costing less money to the user and more time to the staff. Please let us know what you think, especially if you are an artist or commissioner of Custom Clothing items! We want to make this change as fair as we can to everyone. Do you have any other ideas that might work?
