Site Contest: November-December 2024
Posted on November 19, 2024...And yet part of me still can't believe it. I keep waking up in a cold sweat from nightmares where he's found some terrible new secret to staying alive and in control, and my family's ripped apart in front of my eyes again because I didn't bow my head-!
... huff... huff...
Maybe there's a broken piece of me that will never be rid of him, and my nightmares will haunt me even when he can't. How's that for your legacy, you sniveling rat? You'll be remembered, all right - in every curse I hurl at whatever new monster steps up to take your place, be it The Specter or The Unmaker or The End itself! Grrr...
Hn. At least he can't do any worse to us now. The Scribe's still mostly sleeping off her transformation into the Mystic of Story, only waking up every now and then to shovel some food and coffee down her throat and then fall right back into a dead sleep. Until she's awake long enough to tell us more about what she learned from the Narrator, we'll stay in the 'magical hero transformations' genre by having the Site Contest for this month in the Kith Design Category with a theme of New Transformations.
You'll have until December 17th to earn the most Cheers on your entry and win the usual prizes: a Custom Kith Stage Submission, the In the Spotlight Achievement, the Spotlight Showcase and Spotlight T-Shirt. Simple as it may seem, every contestant should still read the Rules first! Rrr...
But... watching and waiting for Scribe to come back to us fully... it's been hard on Witch. He doesn't have the same... experiences that I've endured. Ever since he started helping Scribe out in the castle, writing up Happy Endings to shelved projects in the dungeon archives, they've become closer, so he's got a lot of faith in her. Tsk. Faith... Sorry. I don't begrudge others their beliefs, but this old wolf's too jaded to join in. Besides, Witch already has his hands full, working with Dollmaker to try to convince Hero that the Narrator's truly dead, in a way that doesn't mess with his faulty memory...
Now that Hero's being less of a nuisance, he's also less of a pincushion. There's not as much thrill to the hunt when... Anyway. I've taken to aiming for the stage lights when the Moon is taunting me with those obnoxiously bright new "LEDs" from the Solarium. What ever happened to mood lighting?!
So, if you need a place to vent your remaining anger, grab a bow and join me to Shoot the Moon. You'll earn Shards and maybe teach your Kith an ability or two if they're still learning their transformations. Aim well and the Moon may drop some of that tasty moon cheese! Ahhh, that spicy flavor gives my every shot a boost of firepower. Heh, sometimes a good shot will even dislodge an extra arrow that got stuck up there a while ago!
If you run into the occasional ghost haunting the moon, don't worry about it; they're just as likely to haunt your arrow as they are a stage light. Nah, the thing you should really watch out for are the Moon's potion bottles - those damn things change the shape and size of my bow and arrows! Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse... hn. The Moon's just lucky my hunt's a game these days.
