Lol I wandered here to say basically what Rue said, only to be reminded I can actually just use my Kith dailies XD I don't mind waiting a few weeks if it means not relying on the diminishing odds of Chrysa giving out the right quest! ETA: Kith dailies aside, I should say I actually started out on Neutral terms with Chrysa (like 15 rep points I believe?) , but I still hit Friendly way before I could unlock anyone else, and now it's significantly slowed down already :3
[@CloudedOtter] You know what, on second thought, it *is* weird to have a mechanic that's kinda terrifying by design but only as long as you don't cheat >_< The simple solution would I guess be to only allow Unmaking as long as your Cooking and Tailoring are above 0?
Are materials really THAT desirable anymore tho? Like, sure, funneling of any type should be explicitly forbidden, but is this new type of funneling really exploitable? I mean I've got a pile of extra materials almost as big as my pile of scrap clothes. And that's just from diligently doing my dailies for a month or two :O I think I only needed to buy a buckle for the last round of Unique Quests? While I could have utilized Unmaking to get that buckle now, I feel the game is balanced enough that nothing is so scarce as to justify the hassle of a whole alt account. Like yeah I suppose I could funnel to SELL the materials, rather than for my personal use but... that just doesn't seem worth it. There are easier ways to make money. And anyway I think the demand for materials in the Marketplace is going to drop thanks to Unmaking? And if someone has an enormous pile of spare clothes just because they really like crafting, they might as well Unmake a bunch because the crafting would easily make up for it, right? What Shazz said made me think: a NEW player can Unmake with no consequence, provided they have enough scrap food/clothes from quests/Lycus/giveaways. Build up a hoard of valuable materials/ingredients, sell some, and just generally have more control over their resources without buying them directly. Then they can start leveling their Cooking/Tailoring. (They don't drop past 0, do they?!) Personally, I'm always in favor of new legitimate in-game careers XD
Holy shit. (Mechanics-wise, this is so neat tho?? Unmaking can literally leech off your extra progress points once your Cooking/Tailoring level is capped out :O)
