"For a magnet to pose a risk to me, it would need to be either very l∂r{{ge or ver-very powerful. Is that sort of thing common, in a location like this?" Was she... kidding? Like, sarcastically? Of course that's what he meant! Lucienne mentioned a power source, and he couldn't scan so-- you know what, never mind. Ada wasn't running optimally. Maybe her... logic processors weren't functioning either. Or maybe this was just what she was like. Who knew. It was hard interacting with different levels of technology. Though he'd... really like to understand how she got the gun that shot portals. "I'm still having a hard time reading the area..." Pellam murmured as he followed both of the girls in. He couldn't help but blink and squint, but the area was hazy and dark. Whatever was interfering with his scanners was starting to mess with his optics too. "What kind of place is this anyway?"

"W-woah woah...! Ada slow down!" Pellam stumbled after her towards the building while tightly holding onto the wires connecting them. She still needed to finish charging, where did she think she was running of to so fast?! "Geeze... you need to be more careful if you're not running optimally." Maybe this is how she got into this state in the first place. He sighed, exasperated and pushed back his hair, before clicking a small button at his hip. It opened what essentially a tiny portal, just the right size for his hand, to pull a full, sleek sword from literal nothingness. Pocket dimensions make for great scabbards. It was easy enough to let Lucienne scout ahead. She could actually see and navigate in the building. Pellam could hold up the rear and watch Ada's back literally. It wasn't good to leave Static behind either. "Just... don't rush in. There could be other dangerous things in there. Like magnets."

Silence fell over Pellam as he trailed along with Ada and listened, quietly agreeing with Static. The fact that she wasn't in control of her own modifications didn't sit well with him at all. She mentioned being an early model in her world, but that was practically barbaric. The synthetics of his world literally revolted over things like that. 'But that ain't any of your goddamn business, now is it? Bruce's voice echoed in his head over and over. Well, he'll... try. Maybe. "Do you want to be able to modify yourself...? Can you even decide that?" A strange question, but one that would make sense to a robot, of course. "Can... oh huh." The second they approached the building, he slowed to a stop. "Hold on, this isn't right..." > Unable to scan. Restarting process... > Unable to scan. Restarting process... > Unable to scan. Restarting process... > Unable to scan. Restarting process... It didn't matter how many times Pellam re-initiated an environmental scan, he couldn't pick up anything at all in this building. It wasn't that it was void of life. It was... nothing. A wall. A mystery. "Uh, Lucienne? What is this place made out of...? I can't read through the walls at all."

"I don't think there's much difference between machines and humans..." Pellam grumbled sourly to himself. It was always a contested argument between both parties, and always got ugly. Pellam never understood. Literal hell was breaking loose and there were actual demons to hate instead of each other. "I can walk and charge if Ada can. Lead on." He gestured to the wire connecting them. "Just can't go far. As for gender. it's just a Display parameter, if that helps. My system sets the default at Neutral, but you can change any physical feature to Masculine or Feminine, like uh..." He gestured vaguely to his body and paused awkwardly, face a little hot again. There was really only one feature he switched often, and that was, uh... personal. For Bruce. Moving on! "I-I kept most of my default features at Neutral, but I had a few friends who preferred Masculine, so I ended up switching a couple too. Does that sound familiar? Maybe you have a function close to that?"
