Re: [POST HERE FOR QUESTS] Welcom...
Yes, they have eye stalks that can move independently of one another, and while we have only 3 color receptive cones (red, green, blue) that make up what we know of visible light, the mantis shrimp has up to 16. They can see 'colors' that we can't even imagine. It's the most complex visual system in the known world.

And a third one! It's awfully lonely in this thread by myself, haha. I'm going to start leaving cool animal facts for whoever comes this way. For instance: The mantis shrimp normally grows to be only 4 inches long, but it can punch it's tiny shrimp claws at a speed of 30 feet per second (or 22mph), which is enough force to crack aquarium glass.

Re: What is your favorite poem?
My favorite poem is The Tiger by William Blake Tiger! Tiger! Burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire? And what shoulder, and what art, Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? and what dread feet? What the hammer? What the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp Dare in its deadly terrors clasp? When the stars threw down their spears, And watered heaven with their tears, Did he smile his work to see? Did he who make the Lamb make thee? Tiger! Tiger! burning bright In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
