Re: Fusion Boogaloo: Tempest (Jam...
Shin shook the hands of Klein and Rowan. His brain took a moment to register what Rowan said, and reacted as the man started following Klein down the stairs. "... Anime? You come from a place named... Anime?" His eyes stopped for a moment on Rowan’s ears and tails. "Actually, never mind. That makes perfect sense." He followed the two, and stopped when he noticed the crumbling, apparently slippery staircases they were descending. It looked like Klein had slipped and fallen to one of the landings. They seemed... Dangerous. Instead, Shin stepped towards the edge of the cliff. It was something of a fall, definitely, but he'd done worse, and he knew his equipment's limits. He could make that jump, easily. He took a couple of steps back and tapped a point on the side of his leg, causing the heels of his shoes to start glowing light blue. He then took a deep breath, ran towards the edge of the cliff, and leaped off.

Shin let go of Klein's shirt and closed his eyes, shaking his head. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes, only to see a hummingbird pecking at his mask. He shooed it off with his hand, before Klein grabbed it, and then turned to look at the two men in front of him. "I'm sorry," he said. "I'm just desperate. My friends are in grave danger, and I got ripped away from them at a critical moment. But if you're telling the truth, and the same thing happened to you too, then… I guess there’s nothing that can be done right now?" He paused for a moment, almost as if hoping for an answer, before continuing. "So yeah, finding out more sounds good. Though I do want to point out, I’ve no way of knowing what the locals look like. Everything around here looks about equally ancient to me." He added that last part with a small smile on his face. Then, he took a step forward, and extended his hand. "I'm Shin. Shin Nakamura. Key fighter of the Lockbreakers." He appreciated the pun in his head, even if he knew the others had no way of catching it.

Re: Fusion Boogaloo: Tempest (Jam...
Under the dark red sky, a group of masked figures was making its way to one of the Locksmith’s lairs. Of course, for the untrained eye, most of them wouldn’t have been visible, and the few that were drew attention from the rest. Shin Nakamura was one of the visible ones. He had messy hair, formed into thick spikes, below which lay an orange mask with horns, and holes not unlike those of a Jack O'Lantern. His bright red eyes were all that could be seen beneath it. He was wearing a red t-shirt under a black shirt, with a light blue jacket on top, and matching light blue pants. Beside him walked his partners, Riegnod and Kuro. They were similarly masked, though their outfits differed. Riegnod was wearing what could best be described as a set of dark purple robes. Occasionally, an edge would flap in the wind and one could see, on the inside, a glimpse of ever-changing purple lettering. One would be advised not to glimpse much longer, if one values their sanity. Kuro was wearing a seemingly skin-tight outfit, both the shirt and pants. They were black, with glowing green lines coursing through it, bending in right angles. The trio approached the inconspicuous building and, once they were right at its doorstep, Shin raised his gloved hand. In front of it appeared a holographic wireframe, which extended beyond either side of his hand. Then, with a flash and a small implosion, it solidified in his hand. It was a weapon, a sword with an edge glowing bright red, and red "cracks" running across its black blade. At the tip, on the blunt side, there were three protrusions, shaped like the teeth of a key. It promptly disassembled, the blade breaking apart at the gleaming cracks. The shards of his sword floated around him, before settling on floating an inch away from his fists, feet, and leg. He raised his foot and kicked at the door, and the shards around that leg rearranged, granting the kick enough strength to blow the door of its hinges. The three of them charged in through the entrance hallway and emerged into a courtyard. A strangely empty courtyard. The three immediately stood in a circle, their backs to the center. A man clapped. He emerged from behind one of the courtyard's pillars, face shrouded under a cowl. It which formed a keyhole shape with his robe's neckline, marking him as a close underling of the Locksmith. Immediately, Kuro created a grenade in his hand, similarly to Shin’s weapon, and lobbed it at the figure. It bounced off a momentarily visible wall, however, and the explosion left the man unharmed. "So," he proclaimed. "You are the villains who seek to undo all my master has created. You have been a pain for a long time. But this night, you will meet your end." He protruded a small remote control and pressed the button. An alarm rang out, and from the darkness, dozens of armed soldiers emerged, their sights trained on the trio. Reacting in a split second, Riegnod created a magical staff, a less madness-inducing script dancing on its surface, and commanded, "You boys take care of the soldiers; I’ll bring down his shield!" As she began to chant, Shin and Kuro sprung to action. The black-clad boy extended his left hand and created a large energy shield. And Shin… Shin felt a tremor underfoot. He kept his balance, and looked around, puzzled to see that no one else had been affected. Shards danced around him, intercepting bullets. He felt a stronger tremor, which seemed, oddly, to also affect only him. He looked up, and saw something perhaps even more distressing: The sky's dark red was waxing an unnatural bright purple. "Guys," started Shin, voice trembling slightly. "What the fuck is going on here?" Kuro turned to look at him, one eyebrow raised. "What do you think is happening? We’re getting shot at!" "I know that! I’m talking about the tremors, and the fucking sky going purple!" Now Kuro started to look a little more worried. "… Tremors? Sky going purple? Shin, what the fuck are you talking about?" Shin opened his mouth to answer, but right then, there was a far more violent tremor, strong enough to make him lose his footing, even with the aid of his shards. He saw a flash of light, and then… He began to fall. He couldn't tell from what, or where to. But his friend calling out his name, the last thing he had heard before the flahs, resounded in his ears. The fall continued for a while, longer than he'd have expected. Not more than he was ready for, however. He fell on a practiced stance, his shards still active, so, when he hit the ground standing, they cushioned his fall. He gave his surroundings no more than a glimpse. He appeared to be in a strange place, with a strangely black sky, and what seemed to be... airships? Regardless, he had no time for that. He had to figure out what was going on, fast. Shin's first thought, of course, was that this was some sort of hologram. He tapped a spot on his right elbow, and from that point in the jacket sprouted a small parabolic antenna. Two earplugs emerged from his neckline, at either side of his head, and he put them on. The antenna produced a loud sound at the high end of the human range of hearing. It forced him to close his eyes and grit his teeth, even with his ears plugged, but it would get rid of any holograms around. However, when he opened his eyes, he noticed nothing had changed. He cursed. He had no time to waste. A darker thought cropped up. What if his mind was being messed with, his perceptions altered? As soon as the thought passed through his mind, he brought his hand to his face, sliding it beneath his mask, and pressing a particular button on its inner side. From the top of the mask protruded two metal bars, which extended around his head, forming a sort of circlet. He vanished his shards. This was going to hurt. He began to hear another high-pitched noise, but this one, he knew, was in his head. It grew in intensity, and as it became unbearable, he fell to his knees, hands on his temples. Eventually it stopped, and he tentatively opened his eyes. Still nothing. He swore again, louder this time. Maybe, he thought, this place is not fake. Maybe I have really been taken elsewhere, despite the alien skies and the ancient-seeming technology. But where? He had no time to think further. His friends were in danger. He stood up and pushed a button on the left arm of his jacket. A screen popped up from it. "'Location unknown'? Really?" He complained, reading out the contents of the screen and then swatting it flat against his jacket. "Ah, whatever. This fucking thing never worked right anyways." He slid his mask to the side of his head and took another frantic look around. That's when he noticed a group of people a short distance away. He ran toward them, grabbing the closest one, a blond man with a ponytail and a sword on his back, by his shirt, and shouting, “WHERE. THE FUCK. AM I?”
