Rowan smiled as Klein slid into the booth across from him, watching him lost in thought, and then in people-watching. He tended not to have idle hands for long, often finding something with which to distract his fingers. The bartender walked up to the table to take their order. Having been similarly mesmerized by the vast array of unfamiliar drinks, Rowan was snapped out of his stupor when Gabe asked what he would like. He stared at the guy for a moment too long, before stuttering, “I-I’ll have what he’s having,” indicating Klein. He hadn’t really heard what Klein had ordered, but he didn’t want to make himself look like a complete fool, so he’d just allow himself to be surprised, he figured. Gabe gave him another look over, wondering who exactly these strangers were, and why Rowan in particular seemed to be behaving oddly, but then shrugged it off and headed back to the bar to prepare their drinks, passing Shin as he approached the booth and took a seat. Rowan then heard Tera’s voice coming from the cellular phone in front of him, wanting to start the sharing of knowledge between the four of them. “Well… I don’t have too much of a clue of what exactly led me here. I was merely taking a few days to myself at our… er, my ranch.” Rowan coughed, trying to hide the tear that threatened to leave his eye. He cleared his throat. “And then, one morning, I was knocked down by one of my dogs greeting me, and on the way down, I noticed an odd special distortion that showed me the magic school on my world, which was nowhere near that home. And before I hit the ground, I passed through some type of portal I guess? And ended up here… On top of Klein…….. Sorry about that again,” he said, giving Klein an apologetic glance. “But… that’s really all I’ve got. It was all pretty sudden, without any real warning. I can’t really explain why me, let alone why Klein, or you guys.” Rowan let out an exasperated sigh, and leaned back, unable to come up with any explanation for any of this mess.

Rowan shouldn’t have been too surprised by Shin recognizing the device in his hand as a cellular phone, but somehow the fact that only he and Klein were in the dark to this technology somewhat rattled him. If we’re indeed all from different worlds, why was it that cellular phones were a constant in all worlds but Animæ? What could it mean? He was drawn out of his thought spiral by Klein once again, urging the four of them to move on, indicating the shop ahead of them. Rowan nodded at this, and led the way to the building, figuring they definitely needed to take the chance to regroup, and perhaps get a local to give them the lay of the land. The sign on the building swung lazily, having been set into motion by the passing of one of the many airships in the sky that day. Rowan ducked under the doorway, his eartips just grazing the top of the doorframe as he entered the dimly-lit interior, relative to the daylight. Rowan made a beeline for one of the booth-table combos along the perimeter, being used to being served at a moment’s notice given his societal position. He immediately took a seat, and waited patiently for the barkeep to notice. It didn’t occur to Rowan that this was not Animæ, and the barkeep wasn’t likely to jump up to serve at a moment’s notice without prompting, but Rowan was too distracted to become aware of his surroundings.
