Once a bold and carless young Phowl, with a habit of recklessly rushing into danger, Pyralis has since grown considerably. While Serabee used to worry about his older sister, Jinx's influence, it seems her fears were in vain as Pyralis has surpassed her significantly in maturity (though that is, admittedly, not saying much). Pyralis is now an exemplary Kith- confident but not arrogant, brave but cautious, and firm but not harsh. And though his battle style differs greatly from his older sister's, it has paid off in allowing him to withstand drawn out battles, staying strong and holding on while waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

Some would say it's only natural for him to have matured as he grew. But this kind of maturity, Pyralis now understands, is hard-earned. When Hope University first gained access to the Snow Globe remnant, Serabee took both Jinx and Pyralis to explore. But as things got heated and more dangerous, Serabee tried in vain to get Pyralis to stay back in Hope. But the Phowl refused, sometimes even resorting to sneaking after his human ally. By helping where he could, and watching the other Kith fight, Pyralis began to develop strategies on his own. By seeing the damage that the battles brought, Pyralis learned to control his impulses, and channel his once reckless bravery into something more useful. By the time the Scourge fell, Pyralis had transformed- not just physically, but emotionally as well.
