i don't want to go through 243 announcement notifications
big things i want answered:
i've noticed some (many) players have fancy vistas - colored blocks around the avatar for forum posts. ex, mine is plain blue. how do i get fancy ones?
all the new clothing items! i neeeeeed to see previews for /everything/. is there an avatar previewer yet? bc that would be even more awesome.
pls tell me that it's possible to go to the space remnant with a quest..........

I can work out a quick runthrough of all the big events in a while if you want, but first, some answers to your main questions:
Forum Banners are primarily premium and can be bought from Nick, but there's also some ones you can earn in other ways:
1. Once you get every NPC in a remnant at 100/100 reputation, you unlock a banner for that remnant.
2. Some banners are available during events, such as the rainbow banner for the Prism Party
3. If you earn Tattertints from one of Iris's quests, you can trade them at the Bank Exchange for coloured banners.
We do have an avatar preview now! If you head to the wardrobe, there's a toggle that says "My Owned Items" - click it to swap to All Site Items! You can't save if you're using items you don't own, but it's great to preview things.
Sadly, the Cosmic Solarium doesn't have an unlock quest. All remnants are now unlocked via Secrets, which you can earn from Secret Unique Quests by getting to devoted with an NPC. (Or buying access with gems)

thanks for the answers! i managed to stick my nose into this event a little bit and was reminded about the secrets - i had totally forgotten about that update lol. but your reply is 10/10 exactly what i needed~

A few additional things-
The History page should be helpful to give the general idea of the major events that have happened since you've been gone. Each will also link to the appropriate announcements, so any that you want more info you can click through there rather than muddy through the announce notifs where half of them are stuff like items releases or code updates. This is up to date through February, but I'll be working on getting march up soon since the month is almost over.
Second, specifically for events going forth there is a event summary page. This is not quite up-to-date (I will....work on this now, only a couple links missing), but will be soon. Same as the history page, it will link to appropriate announce threads, but it's in slightly more detail and all together for the event itself.
