Placing equipped item behind avatar

Black Enchanted Fog for example, since it looked like an avatar background and is one of the items I expected to be able to do this with. It seems to not be able to show only behind the avatar, as at even the lowest placement it still goes over the avatar's skin.
Is there a way to put it (or any item for that matter) behind your avatar or if I wanted a background would I just have to find something else?

I did notice that theres a custom item, the Aqua Cutout Enchanted Fog that lets you do this. but otherwise to have an enchanted fog "behind" your avatar, you'd need something like a Tone 01 Thespian Skin Tone because the fogs dont have a cut out for the body, like the Cherry Blossoms Scrying Spell (and most background items tbqh).
Theres some items that play with the fact that you can essentialy block out parts of your avatar, such as the White Floating Head Body Cutout and the Headless Haunt Scrying Spell

Noticed while I was typing that someone else also answered, but I'll add my two cents as well.
That item is meant to partially cover the user, as it's a fog more than a background. The only way to get it and other background items that covers parts of the avatar to appear to be not covering it is through layering tricks.
The easiest one would be to use the Thespian Skin Tone items. For example, if you out the Black Enchanted Fog at the bottom, and then put the Tone 01 Thespian Skin Tone above, it gives the effect that the user is above the background item. This can be used to make some really clever changes and effects to existing backgrounds!
For more non-premium ways, you'd probably have to poke around in the dressing room. I think the hardest part is to find something that'll work around the head, but if you use clothing that covers most/all of the skin (or also searching up what kinds of Tone 01-12 items you prefer to use), you should be able to find something that works best for you!

Edit: Ah, I took far too long, didn't see the previous replies.
The Oread Skin is a non-premium item that covers the whole skin, though it is rather expensive. It'd work like the Thespian Skin Tones in Begitte's explanation.

[@Begitte] Your explanation is definitely helpful, I'm pretty new so can't possibly have it explained to me too clearly lol. Thank you for your kind two cents.
[@Glys] Thanks for the tip!
