Disability Avitar Items
Tutorial TutorialDisability Avitar Items 8
So the title is a bit odd but I just realized, not everyone in Hope can be able-bodied. Not everyone in our world is and it would be amazing to have the option to represent a physical disability with an item like a wheelchair or forearm crutch (or pair of crutches).
I understand that a wheelchair would be difficult due to the avi pose and also that items would likely need to be redrawn to accommodate a "sitting" pose. Crutches would also be a fair way to show disability, they could possibly be available in a range of colors (as many forearm arm crutches now come in cool custom colors and patterns) and even if it was the option to just have one for the arm that is down in the pose it would be amazing to have available. I specifically suggest forearm crutches as they are much easier to get around with than the Axilla crutches that are popular in the USA and are much better for long-term use.
@Himochi also had the great suggestion of prosthetic items.
I understand that these could be difficult to implement but I feel that representation of disability is important. Hope is a diverse and welcoming place, it only make sense some students might have a disability (be it visible or invisible).
Edit: OMG THE ITEMS ARE SO GREAT AND WONDERFUL! I didn't expect anything like this to be made so soon and I had to dig around to find this thread. I'm so excited to see items for all types of people to express themselves with!

I like that idea! It'd be really cool. Even the NPC Skyler is missing an arm!

Support! While wheelchairs might be difficult with the avi poses, I think crutches and prosthetics could definitely be added!

I love this idea! Another thing might be braces for limbs. I use ankle braces daily, and wrist braces once in a while. I usually make a glove item my avatar's "brace" or use the sports wraps, but they don't quite work.
An insulin pump would also be awesome! My brother has Type 1 Diabetes, and I've never seen a game with a pump like his.

I was digging through suggestions to find another post, but stumbled across this. To explain how it happened so quickly after your request is simple: it had been in works for a few months already. ( I was the one personally bothering for hearing aid for quite a while :P )
Anywho, moving this to completed suggestions now.
