Klein looks over Shin's clothing, trying to see what parts of it are able to change and protect him from various things but it blends in too well for his untrained eye and he shakes his head, left with more questions than answers. "Did you see where Anna went? I thought she jumped off after you but... I could swear she disappeared." Looking up at the Rowan and Tera-in-the-box, Klein waves a hand and tells him to be careful on the rest of the way down, then walks over past Shin, heading towards the nearest dock.

Tera watched as Klein ran down the slope after the two who had jumped, surprised when no screaming ran out. "...is everything ok?" He shouted after a bit, pressing his face against the wall.

Rowan was somewhat curious about Shin’s remark, saying that him being from Animæ made sense. After Tera’s earlier remark, he began to wonder if perhaps other worlds knew of his, even though in his 24 years living in Animæ, he’d never been aware of other worlds himself. However, these musings were cut off by first one sudden uptake of wind, followed quickly by another. Rowan turned to see Shin and Anna sailing in the air, one right after the other, with surprising grace. Then, Anna’s body seemed to be separate into dots of bright light, before disappearing entirely. Seconds later, Shin landed safely, while Rowan’s brow remained furrowed, attempting to figure out what had happened with Anna. However, no amount of eyebrow-furrowing would bring her back, so Rowan abandoned this fruitless endeavor. At the same time, he heard Tera shout to the others from the cellular device in his hands, and saw that Klein had already dashed down the remainder of the stairs to meet up with Shin. Having snapped himself out of his stupour, Rowan swiftly, yet methodically, maneuvered his way down the remainder of the stairs, Tera in hand, to meet up with the others. His tail was out behind him, as he used it to help balance himself down the last bit of the slope. Walking up to Klein and Shin, Rowan held up Tera to involve him in the discussion. “Uh… so, do any of you understand… what exactly happened with Anna back… er, up there? I just caught the last bit, but, uh… I mean, I’ve seen people magic on our world before of course, but that seemed… I don’t know what that was, or if she’s safe?” He looked back and forth between Klein and Shin, hoping somebody could shed a little light on this issue. He was about as concerned for Anna’s wellbeing as he was with what exactly happened and why Anna disappeared. Was it an ability or technology of hers? Or was this place they found themselves in fighting back?

Klein shakes his head, equally as confused as to where Anna ended up. "No, I've never heard of anything like that either. I've seen magic before, as you said but... Something like that? I can only hope it was intended and not something to do with where ever we are. Well, now that we're all down here, that building looks like a good place to start. I think I might even see some people there, going inside". He points to a smaller building not too far away, with some sort of sign hanging over the door, and turns back towards the others. "C'mon then, let's get some information about where we are. This place is all too different and getting to know more about it will at the very least make [i]me[/i] feel less anxious".

Shin looked back up at the cliff, where the person who had jumped after him, apparently named Anna, had disappeared. He never got to see her disappear, but... He slid his mask back on, tapping a specific spot on its side. Immediately, the eyeholes in his mask were replaced by screens. He moved his hands forward, and a sort f holographic keyboard appeared under them. He typed in a command and looked back up at the cliff. The screens showed the image of Anna diving after him, only to disappear into squares of light. "Huh," he said, turning back to the others while sliding his mask off. "You know, that could easily be the way we all disappeared from where we were. Which, if that's what it looks like, then my friends are probably really worried about me!" His eyes opened wide, and after they went back to normal, he smirked. "Alright, then we definitely need to investigate and figure out how to go back. Come on, Rowan, let's go explo..." He trailed off as he stared at Rowan's hand, dumbstruck. Or, to be more specific, at what Rowan was holding. He squinted and hunched over a bit. "Is that... Is that a [i]phone[/i]?"

Tera jumps a bit at the face suddenly filling his vision. "Oh! Hello. I'm... er, my name is Tera. This is indeed a phone! I am... I live inside it, and have been brought here from a place called Earth. Nice to meet you!" He smiles at Shin for a moment before remembering something he'd said. "...You don't think someone else could disappear like that, could they...?" [s]Please don't let me get left behind...[/s] That last bit isn't actually said, but it shows on the phone's screen in plain English, and something about Tera's silence conveys it extremely well. perhaps a bit too well.

Klein turns back as he hears Shin and Tera speaking, raising an eyebrow. "You know of those strange boxes too? Phones? They're fascinating; we've never seen the like of them on Animæ and now we've met three people who know of them! Maybe once we get more safe, you can tell us more about that, and the strange... Technology in your suit. Especially whatever made you able to land that jump without injuring yourself..." Klein trails off as his eyes drift to Shin's feet, looking again for an obvious source of the light he'd seen as he'd landed. "This place doesn't feel inherently dangerous, but there are too many unknowns where we are. C'mon everyone, let's get inside and we can go over what we know then."

Rowan shouldn’t have been too surprised by Shin recognizing the device in his hand as a cellular phone, but somehow the fact that only he and Klein were in the dark to this technology somewhat rattled him. [i]If we’re indeed all from different worlds, why was it that cellular phones were a constant in all worlds but Animæ? What could it mean?[/i] He was drawn out of his thought spiral by Klein once again, urging the four of them to move on, indicating the shop ahead of them. Rowan nodded at this, and led the way to the building, figuring they definitely needed to take the chance to regroup, and perhaps get a local to give them the lay of the land. The sign on the building swung lazily, having been set into motion by the passing of one of the many airships in the sky that day. Rowan ducked under the doorway, his eartips just grazing the top of the doorframe as he entered the dimly-lit interior, relative to the daylight. Rowan made a beeline for one of the booth-table combos along the perimeter, being used to being served at a moment’s notice given his societal position. He immediately took a seat, and waited patiently for the barkeep to notice. It didn’t occur to Rowan that this was not Animæ, and the barkeep wasn’t likely to jump up to serve at a moment’s notice without prompting, but Rowan was too distracted to become aware of his surroundings.

Klein slides in on the booth as well and waves to the others as they walk in, sitting across from Rowan and idly picks at a loose string in the small cloth over part of the table. He looks around at the building, chatter from the people sitting at the other tables washing over him and soothing him a little as he takes in the surroundings; a homey feeling.. Bar, maybe? With floor to ceiling shelves and displays of various drinks that look like nothing he's ever seen before. After a few seconds of looking around, he waves down one of the people wearing what looks like a work uniform and asks them for their preference on drinks here, not sure what to order, as his usual is [i]probably[/i] a bit too strong for this time of day. "My friends and I, we're not really from around here. What sorts of drinks would you recommend to freshen up and help yourself get some focus?", he says to the man who approaches their table, a slightly sheepish smile on his face. "And while you're still here, any idea who to go to if we need some information about this place? I've been having trouble finding anywhere with all the flying things outside". The man looks Klein and Rowan up and down a few times then shrugs so faintly it's almost unnoticed, a '[i]Well you two are dressed strangely but this is a bar, so...[/i]' sort of gesture. "Well hey there, welcome to the Gilded Wing, the best place for refreshment in all of North Tempest! The name's Gabe and I'm pretty partial to the Mint Pitcher, it's good at kicking your ass into gear when you're about to fall asleep. Although... I'd recommend a glass of ice water alongside it, it's pretty strong", he says, pulling out a small notebook, "Can I get one of those for you? And, what about you sir?" he says, looking at Rowan. Klein feels his mouth water at the sound of a glass of ice water and won't pass up the chance to try the "Mint Pitcher", so he nods in agreement. "That sounds great, thanks!"

Shin looked on stunned as Tera talked to him. He would have said something, but pretty quickly Klein and Rowan started moving ahead, and he followed. He wasn’t really paying attention, though, his mind instead being occupied by what he saw. There was no doubt about it, that was a True AI. But, how? How did someone manage to create one for such an obsolete piece of technology? More importantly, why? Placing a sentient, feeling mind into a device which they could not move in any way seemed, to Shin, extremely cruel. Why create one only to imprison it? Shin would figure out a way to help Tera. He had to. Hmm, but how… His mind started rushing, filling with dozens of ideas. He pulled up his wrist computer, and started taking notes and making rough models, following the others, until he was shaken out of his trance when he almost bumped into the side of the bar's doorway. He looked up, pushing the screen flush against his sleeve, and shook his head to clear his thoughts. Then he started to examine his surroudings. One or two people were glancing at him, as he clearly stood out from the general population. He wouldn’t have worried about it too much, normally, but there was something about the place he didn’t like. The white-and-gold, the robes, the general angelic theme, it all reminded him of the Locksmith. He closed his eyes amd shook his head again, taking a deep breath. He had to remind himself, wherever he was, it was almost certainly out of that man’s grasp. He looked around for the other two men, then walked towards their table, joining them.
