Cursed (Private Group RP)

Some say being a mutant is a gift, a blessing. Others insist it's a curse. All we know is, we were born different. And the world...doesn't look very kindly on people who are different.

We're from all walks of life, all ages, all races. We come from all kinds of backgrounds, with all kinds of personalities. But we have a unifying goal, one as old as time itself. Survival. All we want from this world is to be able to live in it. And help others like ourselves to do the same, safely. Because the truth is, when you're born different, the world doesn't always treat you kindly.

You won't hear about it in the papers or see it on the news, but people go missing. There are rumors of testing facilities, borderline torture experiments. And it's not "normal people" they're abducting. It's people like us. And we're not going to wait to be the next victims. If that means going into hiding, so be it.

We have sister groups. Others who take a more active role in the fight against these threats to our survival and our freedom. But we're more focused on the recruitment and training. Getting people out of bad situations and back to somewhere safe. Come on, why don't you come meet the crew.

Keren "Tempest" Alfarsi - Sheacka
Spoiler

Basic Information
Full Name: Keren Alfarsi
Nicknames: Tempest
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Height: 5'0"
Build: Lean, toned and petite, B cup
Sexuality: Undecided
Race: Mutant
Family: She considers the group she works for her family. She did have a father, mother and little brother, but that was a life time ago. She barely remembers them nor does she know if any of them are still alive. She won't admit it, but she does have an old photo of her and her family, before she ran away, with her name with a 7 next to it, then a Eliyahu with a 2 under hers.

Personal
Personality: Quiet and observant, she dedicated herself to the project and helping other mutant runaways feel safe. Because of her time living on the streets she hardly lets her guard down, which can make her seem colder then she truly is, and it can seem like she doesn't care about anything other then the job at hand. Outside of the job, she keeps to herself and works at training herself or a younger group member.
Likes: Being alone, strawberry cake, being clean, hard work, sometimes a good book, and wolves
Dislikes: Perfume, mushrooms, being cold, dolls, and gum
Strengths: Wind control, hand martial arts, staying focused
Weaknesses: A gust happens when she happens to sneeze; she can't control it. Note: This does not always happen on a cough. She isn't the best at going out of her way to getting to know someone.

Background
Her power first showed itself when she was nine, though being as it was wind it was easier to say that it wasn't her. However after she had a cold, and having seen what one of her sneezes could do (or rather it practically blowing her things around and doing some damage to the walls) she really couldn't deny any longer that she did, in fact, have control over the wind. She did become scared at what people would do and say, already having known what most thought of those with powers, including her own family.

After getting better she felt that her parents were keeping her at arm's length. Feeling a little hurt, she thought it would be best to runaway with as much money she could get from her mother's purse. She took a backpack and filled it with what she thought she could use without her parents. Then again, a pre-teen doesn't always pack well. She did take things like water and food, but not nearly enough to live off of. She also had a few things like Band-Aids, a family photo, camping supplies and Shadow, her stuffed black wolf for company. She also thought about taking a phone with her but then thought it would be pointless to bring it.

She didn't know why but she left a letter that told them goodbye, then she left her home. One particular day she heard of a group of mutants. If she could find them, they might let her join them, as she was one of them. Then again, showing that you had control of the wind was much harder to do than it probably was to make it rain up. Still, she had at least some chance to find this group. She didn't really know how long she was living on the streets but she wouldn't stay in the same place for too long; she always moved to a different location so that if there was anyone looking for her she wouldn't be found out. She did eventually find the group of mutants.

When she finally did find the group of mutants she found it hard to convince them that she was indeed one. It took her sneezing and making a second wind in a second direction that finally convinced them. Once she was accepted into the group, she dedicated herself to working on her skills and, when she was older, contributing to helping the group. She of course sort of managed to do school work, not that she cared for it. Then again, what kid does? Still, she continues to pay it forward for other runaway mutants.

Günter Sören "Metamorphosis" Bachman
Spoiler

Basic Information
Full Name: Günter Sören Bachman
Nicknames: Metamorphosis, Meta
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Height: 5' 8.5"
Build: Muscular
Sexuality: Straight
Race: Mutant
Family: A mother and father, one older sister, and two younger twins of each gender, but he considers the whole circus his family, as they all do.
Smells Like: Carnival food

Personal
Personality: He prides himself on his showmanship, after all it is or was his life, literally. He likes to charm ladies with it, and though he's a flirt he doesn't pursue anything, even more so after his power manifested. He somewhat went to a vegetarian diet after learning he could become animals. He didn't want to eat something he may or may not be able to turn into. But he is not vegan, and thinks they waste too much energy going out of their way to do things like complain about what is wrong with animal products. For him, he just doesn't want to do some weird act of cannibalism. He doesn't have a whole lot of experience with technology; he used a laptop for home schooling and that was pretty much it. Because of this, and not being around anyone his own age growing up (outside the circus), he doesn't understand some phrases that the circus didn't use themselves. So he doesn't really have a whole lot that he hates or loves that is non-circus related.
Likes: Rainbow snow cones (multiple flavors), watching the scenery fly by during long drives, tinkering
Dislikes: Long computer days, Cup of Noodle, working concession.
Strengths: Balancing on things, balancing things on his shoulders, juggling, trapeze
Weaknesses: He isn't exactly skilled at his powers of transformation, limited technology skills, and some sayings can be lost on him.

Background
Born into the Stark Circus, Günter's lived a life on the road. And as a circus family member, he was raised to know how to juggle and act and became an amazing acrobat. He spent his younger years selling things like popcorn and cotton candy before he was ready for doing better performances.

When he grew older and stronger he did more to help with set up and tear down instead of just sticking flyers on telephone poles and handing them out to people. He wanted to learn fire and sword eating but it was better that he didn't, as they didn't want to have unwanted damage to the tent. He was eighteen, sleeping while in transit, and woke to everyone in the bus (with the exception of the driver), staring at him. And asking each other what to do with "it". When he thought "It? Don't they know me when they see me?", he changed back and they all gasped and asked how he did that.

He was confused as to what they were talking about, but afterwards they explained that he somehow had made himself look like a cheetah. He was baffled as to how that happened. He had been dreaming about a cheetah; he looked at his hands but they looked the same, though his bunk wasn't as nice as it had been when he went to sleep. When the rest of the circus got word of his power to become animals, it gave them a way to have animals that were a bit harder to get a license for, though he did have trouble changing from time to time.

One particular day when shopping at a market, he accidentally turned into a wolf. Problem was, none of the others were around to say that he was part of the circus, so a lot of people got scared. That was when he realized that he might need to get help with his powers. Someone (from the group) who had seen his transformation (caught on someone's camera) followed him to the camp site and explained to him and the others that it would be better for him to master his powers with others with powers. At first he was against leaving his family, but he also didn't want them having any trouble. So after thinking it over long and hard, he finally agreed that it was better.

Hali "Maelstrom" Spiros - AliceinZombieland
Spoiler

Basic Information
Full Name: Hali Spiros
Nicknames: Maelstrom, Mael
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Height: 5'8"
Build: On the tall side, strong legs
Sexuality: Fluid
Race: Mutant
Family: Just the group now
Smells Like: Saltwater, lilies

Personal
Personality: Hali appears calm on the surface, but deep down she is full of feeling and passion. Dual-natured in many ways, nurturing yet destructive, calm yet tumultuous, gentle yet ferocious, she is the very embodiment of her element.
Likes: Swimming, aromatherapy, crocheting, rock-climbing, yoga, horror movies, hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows
Dislikes: Muscle cramps, the cold, eels, seaweed, dresses, airplanes, guns, mud
Strengths: Water manipulation, fishing, painting
Weaknesses: Susceptible to Ice, Fire, emotional, afraid of heights, bad liar

Background
Hali was a very high-energy child. She loved to do anything and everything that involved moving around, including climbing trees, running, somersaults, swinging, and of course, swimming. She wasn't a child of restraint, nor did she have much of a sense of caution in her youth. One night, she snuck out of the house and down to the beach. She had seen a show about bio-luminescent algae and she wanted to see it light up for herself; of course she had not sat through the show long enough to know that where she lived, none grew that would be within her capabilities to view it. The thought was quickly forgotten once she got into the water, as many grand plans often are when wielded by distractable children. She had always felt at home in the water, though she could never place why. Even in the dead of night, she had no fear of the ocean.

Her parents were another story. Waking in the night to discover their wild child was not in bed as she was meant to be, they flew into a panic trying to find her. She had always been drawn to the ocean, so they descended the sandy slopes, nothing more than a flashlight and the moon overhead to light their way. Hali never expected the ocean to grow tumultuous. She never expected the waves to crash overhead, pushing her down into the water with salt in her lungs, spinning her until she wasn't sure which way was up anymore. She never expected her parents to dive into the treacherous waters in an attempt to save her, or for the current to drag them even further in. Blind and with nothing but rolling, black water all around them, they didn't stand a chance. The ocean swept them away. But not Hali.

Heart racing, lungs full of ocean, and unable to find the surface, her body reacted by instinct and her power exploded from her. She pushed the water away from her body, up and out of her lungs, and with the last bit of strength she had, flung herself from the grasps of the sea and onto the sandy beach. When she woke again, she was in a blinding white room, surrounded by strangers, a needle in her arm and machines beeping and hissing beside her hospital bed. Her parents were never found.

Eventually, she came to stay with an aunt that was still close to her family. She did her best but Hali was changed. She shyed away from the ocean. She became quiet and withdrawn, save for the days when she would throw tantrums for seemingly no reason. Finally, she was enrolled in therapy and she learned that the only thing keeping her out of a padded room, away from the only family she knew, was to become an accomplished liar.

She was terrible at lying.

From ages 13-18, she was in and out of mental institutions until finally she was old enough to move out, away from the only person she had left, the woman who had betrayed her and left her to the doctors and psychiatrists and their many, many needles and pills and "treatments". She would never be fooled by blood again.

But family was still something she craved, and she found it at long last with a group of teenagers like her. People who had unusual gifts and helped her rediscover hers, which had laid dormant for so long it was almost forgotten. They taught her and helped her overcome her fear of the water by learning to control it. And now, she does the same for others like herself, with nowhere to go and nobody to protect them.

Oliver "Book" Scriven - AliceinZombieland
Spoiler

Basic Information
Full Name: Oliver Scriven
Nicknames: Book
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7"
Build: Kind of short, lean
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Race: Mutant
Family: Just his dad, Patrick
Smells Like: Sage and Soap

Personal
Personality: Oliver is fairly quiet until he has something to say, then the trouble is shutting him up. No, actually, the trouble is he usually has something to say. He "collects" trivia and other random facts so chances are he'll know something related to whatever is being talked about. He loves learning and can come off as a bit of a nerd sometimes because of it. He can be a bit snobbish unless he likes you, then he's 90% snark and sarcasm. He loves weird and complicated insults and lives by "the pen is mightier than the sword". He's a bit of a coward and he's not ashamed to admit it.
Likes: Reading, trivia games, Google, hot tea, coffee shops, buttermilk biscuits, the color gray, lava lamps, astrology, superstitious anything, painting
Dislikes: Bugs, wool sweaters (or any clothing, really), click-bait articles, glass bottles, firecrackers, noise
Strengths: Reading and "reading", smart, confident
Weaknesses: Romance, OCD and paranoia, physically weak, talkative

Background
Oliver always did well in school. He loved to read, loved to learn, and excelled in every class he took, except art. Though he loved it, he was terrible at it. And P.E. No upper or lower body strength to speak of. He was bullied, naturally, as are most kids who love learning and lack physical dominance on the playground, but he always tried to use his big brain to outsmart his bullies. He'd lay traps for them, befuddle them with psychology that was way over their heads, and when in doubt the old "distract and run" method usually worked. It would have probably worked a lot better if he was any good at running and didn't have asthma.

He didn't "bloom" until he started college, and that's when things got weird for him. He started slipping in his classes because he was so distracted all the time by visions of people and places and things that did not correlate to who he was with, where he was, or what he was doing. It didn't take him long to figure out what was happening though (Google was the best friend he never had in high school) and not long after that he was connecting with other people like him. People who had powers. Who could do things that were supposed to be impossible. Much to surprise of his father, he left college after only a year and got a job as a technician for a computer company. Of course, unknown to his father, he had also joined up with a group of "gifted" people, using his talents to help them track down more people like them, to help them.

He always knew he was one of the lucky ones. One of the ones who could hide their powers, who didn't live in fear. So he decided to use it to help those who weren't so lucky, to keep them safe and to teach them how to use their powers safely. He's not one for fighting, having no real combat-ready gifts and an utter lacking of physical prowess, so he stays on the sidelines. Usually.

Ever "Fury" Lee - Minyaagar
Spoiler

Basic Information
Full Name: Ever Lee
Nicknames: Fury
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Height: 5'5"
Build: Short, slender, flat chested
Sexuality: Bisexual
Race: Mutant
Family: Lost them at a young age, doesn't like to talk about it. It can trigger episodes when people try to bring them up.
Smells Like: Ionized ozone, cherry candy

Personal
Personality: Ever is easily excitable, kind of a live wire, she can't really sit still for long. Even when she's listening to music she's swaying or moving to it. She has a rather explosive temper; it doesn't really take much for her to lose it. She's trying to work on that & to hold back on taking her temper out on her friends. When she becomes irritated or antsy, little sparks will start to jump between her fingertips.
Likes: Loud rock music, dancing, cooking, thriller movies/books, running, video games, clubs, the night life, coffee or anything with caffeine, junk food, sunsets, CSI, cooking shows, firework displays, peanut butter m&ms, orange & grape Fanta
Dislikes: Sitting still, having nothing to do, early mornings, kale, super healthy food, food snobs, exercising, overly handsy people
Strengths: Electrical manipulation, break dancing, cooking, picking locks, driving, math, computers, working with technology
Weaknesses: Her temper, getting impatient, road rage, has to wear special gloves or she'll fry computers/phones, getting distracted by her phone

Background
Born into a Chinese/American home, Ever's parents tried to raise her in traditional Chinese ways. This didn't really work because Ever was not the type to do as she was told or expected. She had a hot temper & hated trying to live up to their expectations of her. When they wanted her to go into ballet, she rebelled & joined a break dancing group against her parents' wishes. When they tried to get her into horseback riding or gymnastics; she got into skateboarding & running. When they tried to get her into learning more about her heritage; she snuck out of the classes to play video games & learn how to hack & code from her friends.

When her parents had enough & tried to enforce their rules, Ever ran away & stayed with her "uncouth barbarian" friends. After a while, she fell in with a street gang, using her skills to help them with their "jobs". Most of which entailed hijacking or robberies of rich people/companies. On one such job, when she was eighteen, the guard from the company they were robbing caught them. He ended up getting shot & died a few days later.

Ever's gang ended up splitting up & going on the run, to evade capture & punishment for the crime. Ever wasn't ready for life on the run & ended up getting caught, going to trial for the crime. Though Ever didn't pull the trigger, having been part of the crime & not giving up her gang, she was held responsible for it. She got a long sentence in prison. Had the violence ended there, she might have been able to get parole in ten years or more.

She ended up killing several inmates, after an attempted shanking of a woman she had gotten close to. It didn't seem to matter to the warden or the state that the three women had attacked first. All they knew was that they found Ever standing there with a bloody shank & an almost feral look in her eyes with four dead women laying on the ground around her. She got the maximum sentence for the crime, death by electrocution.

Ever gave up trying to explain what had happened, realizing that nothing short of a miracle would save her. That hope left her when she was being strapped into the chair & she was prepared for death. The first jolt of electricity through her body woke up her mutant ability, causing a torrent of electricity to surge from her, arcing out of her body & hitting the walls, ceiling & prison staff in the room, killing them instantly. When the smoke cleared, Ever was gone.

The electrical currents had been so strong that they had burnt through her restraints & released her. With her hair sticking out like a mad scientist's, Ever made a run for it, managing to get out of the prison by the skin of her teeth. She kept running for days, weeks before she finally came to a stop & hid in an old abandoned shipyard. Figuring it would be safer to hide out in a bigger place, she managed to get herself to New York City & took her time in creating an alias for herself that would keep her safe from people finding out what she had done.

She was soon found by a mutant group, thanks to accidentally making half of New York go through a major blackout. She was a bit standoffish at first but soon realized that there was more power in numbers, & it was safer than living alone on the streets. She's slowly working on her temper & has been able to get better control of her abilities, though there are times when she accidentally causes blackouts/brownouts. Or just uses small sparks to shock people who annoy her. Most times she pretends it was static.

Maleko "Shorcut" Kaleo - Minyaagar
Spoiler

Basic information
Full name: Maleko Kaleo
Nicknames: Shortcut, Shorty
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Height: 6'0"
Build: Muscular with a swimmer's build
Sexuality: Still discovering himself
Race: Mutant
Family:
Father: Iokua Kaleo, mutant, hydrokinesis, deceased
Mother: Kalani Kaleo, human, deceased
Brother: Anakoni Kaleo, mutant, pyrokinesis

Smells like: Hawaiian breezes, tropical fruit, ocean water

Personal
Personality: While he has a laid back air, he can be impatient at times. If there is too much going on around him he will hole up somewhere with a book or guitar. He doesn't open up too often to others & is rather private & close mouthed. Once he feels someone is trustworthy he will warm up to them & open up more. He is much more friendly & personable to those he is close to.
Likes: Warm weather (80+), beaches, surfing, fresh fruit smoothies, playing guitar, swimming, solo hiking, enjoying the sounds & peace of nature, sun bathing, dolphins, cool colors, tranquil, calming music, reggae music, yoga, meditation, living healthy
Dislikes: Cold, frigid weather, icy streets, noisy city streets, traffic, waiting in lines, crowds of people, coffee, processed sugars, meat, junk food, loud rock music, crass people
Strengths: Teleportation, some telepathy, surfing, playing guitar, getting a good read for people, swimming, geography
Weaknesses: Can only teleport to places he's familiar with. The more familiar he is with the place, the more precise his teleports are. If he's never been to a place, he can't teleport there, & if he's not very familiar with the place he might teleport in the general area but be off the mark. Also, trying to take too many (2+) can affect how precise he is. His hold on telepathy is tenuous at best; if he is around too many people, everyone's thoughts bleed into his head. It can overwhelm him to where he can barely function. Can be paranoid of other's intentions, trusting others outside the group, driving.

Background
Maleko grew up on one of the warm Hawaiian islands, having a rather normal childhood. He surfed, explore the island, played with his friends, followed his older brother around & was a nuisance. He was a lively boy who liked to have fun, though he often got overwhelmed by too much attention. When that happened he would go to his secret grotto hideaway.

Everything changed when his brother found out that he was a mutant. His father had been hiding his own ability for years, hoping that he could live with his family in peace. Unfortunately, Anakoni's powers emerged in a public place, which forced his father to expose himself to save his family.

They left Hawaii, going on the run to avoid being captured. Maleko was devastated to leave behind his grandmother & all his friends. Then his mother died in a shootout when government officials caught up to them when he was 13.

Maleko grew up under the guidance of his father & brother for the next several years, while they worked and helped out other mutants. His ability showed up when he was 17, and just in the nick of time, saving him from getting captured by human soldiers. The only problem was he left his brother behind; & he ended up thousands of miles away, in an old hideout. It took him several weeks to figure out how to get to one of the safe houses the group had established. Once there, he was relieved to find out his brother had managed to get away.

His father worked in many different areas in the group, never just staying in one place. He was one of the more recognized mutants so he often worked behind the scenes. Until one particular recovery mission had need of his abilities; he sacrificed himself so the others could get away. His death was devastating to the brothers, making them determined to continue the work to honor their father's memory.

Maleko worked at honing his skill, but always seems to have trouble with it. He's worked with several of the mutant groups, but finds the one he's currently in far more accepting than the others. They seem to understand that his power can't always work & don't treat him badly because of it.

Fury adjusted her gloves and popped her neck, feeling almost bone wary after the rescue mission she and her two female partners had gone on. They made their way slowly back to their hidden hideaway in the warehouse area of San Francisco California. They'd taken over an old warehouse, rigged it up temporarily as their headquarters and moved in two weeks before in order to have a place to go after their current mission was underway. Normally the group of six went on missions together, but this time the situation called for the gifts of her control over Electricity, Maelstrom's gifts over water, and Tempest's power over wind.

Fury pulled out her bottle of orange soda that she had picked up while they had been out and took a swig of it, reveling in the taste and let out a contented sigh. As they neared the run down looking warehouse, Fury's ears twitched at quietness. Her eyebrows narrowed and her face went stony. Something was wrong, she wasn't sure what it was but there was definitely something different from when they had left their male compatriots behind four hours before. The silence was almost suppressive and it annoyed her. Usually, Maleko was playing his guitar during downtime.

"Step carefully and keep an eye out," Fury told the other two her eyes sweeping around the area. "I am pretty sure something is off."

After years of living on the streets and being on the run from the law; Fury was a bit paranoid but in this case, a bit of paranoia was a good thing. They were wanted by law enforcement and mutant hunters. For good reason too. Fury and her team were only one team of mutants that went around rescuing and freeing captured mutants that the government locked up. Some for no other reason than them having powers they couldn't control. Of course, once they were locked up, no one gave a damn about what the government used them for. Experimentation, controlled tests, and all sorts of terrible things that they would have had PETA protesting against if those sorts of things were done to animals.

Fury moved to slide the door open, her hand resting on the metal door against the peeling paint and peered inside furtively. Her eyebrows narrowed further and her mouth drew down in a frown. She tentatively stepped inside.

"Shorty, Book, Morph?" She called, as she moved further inside. When there was no response Fury reached for the light switch and turned on the overhead lights which hummed as they slowly light up the large area.

Fury's heart beat sped up at the sign of struggle and broken items around the room. "Oh crap," She swore moving to inspect the smashed guitar that Shortcut treated like a baby and handled with care.

She glanced around to survey the rest of the mess that was strewn across the room. broken glasses, burnt and bullet-torn chairs and couch, her smashed and destroyed headphones and mp3 player.

"Okay," She said trying to fight down the rush of anger that swept through her. "I think it's pretty evident that someone captured them and destroyed our home in the process. We need to find them and fast. Any ideas Mael, Tempy?" She asked gritting her teeth as her hands started to spark up from the anger rushing through her.

Tempest rubbed her neck as they walked back to the warehouse hideaway. She was ready for a bit of alone time. Like Fury she also noticed that it was oddly quite when they returned. She rolled her eyes at Fury for stating the obvious. Still she rather hopped that the boys were just hiding and doing some prank on them.

She always found it strange that the tallest member of the group's code name would get shortened to Shorty. Though it wasn't too bad because at least her teammates weren't the one's calling her shorty being the shortest member of the group. She started to take a look around for any clues. She noticed the claw marks and bullets.

"Well we have a few problems." Keren said as she went towards her bed area "First is, who might have them? Just because they have .... may have been captured, it doesn't mean it's the government. Second, is how did they find that we were squatting here? Third, Did anyone get hurt. Four, if our comrades were taken then where were they taken, and are the intruders still here. However If they were not taken then did they chance after the intruders? Five are there any still here waiting to try and take us?"

She found the book she had been working on and picked it up. "Well I guess I won't be finishing this any time soon, I'm just glad I kept Shadow in my pack. We stayed in the same place too long it seems." She sighed. "We need to keep our heads, I haven't found a sign of blood yet."

Hali stiffened, picking up on Fury's unusually quiet demeanor. Tense, as if something were off. When she spoke what her body was already screaming, Hal merely nodded, following her into their temporary abode/base of operations. She could tell what she meant instantly; it was too quiet. The air was too still. Even when the boys were doing their own things and not chattering to each other, you could usually hear them shuffling their feet, or the crinkle of a bag of chips being opened and devoured. But this dead silence did not bode well for them.

The lights hummed to life as Fury slide the door open and groped for the switch. The scene revealed was not an encouraging one; there had clearly been some kind of fight. Was it government? A rogue group of mutants? Had Mundanes (What Mael liked to call the non-mutant folk) found out about their hideaway and tried to turn them in? Upon more careful analysis though, she was inclined to nix her last theory. Not many Mundanes would chance gunfire with known mutants.

Fury's words broke through her thoughts, drawing her attention to the petite but fuming woman. She did not take kindly to anyone attacking their home, however temporary, and the fact that the boys appeared to be missing did not help. Her fingertips already had little zaps of electricity dancing between them. Mael chanced putting her hand gently on Fury's shoulder. "Let's keep calm. We'll figure out a plan and, if necessary, mount a rescue."

Mael smirked a little as Tempe went into analysis mode. "Technically, five is basically the same as four, and four is two problems," she teased gently before adding, "Well, let's answer them one by one. Split up, stay on guard, search the area. We should do our best not to disturb anything until we can gather enough clues to figure out what happened and what to do."

She dug into her deep pockets and produced a flip pad with a tiny pen attached and started writing Tempe's questions down, jotting down theories next to them and muttering under her breath. "Could be government...but Tempe's right, an attack doesn't mean it is or isn't...could be a rogue mutants too...or a gang. But the boys would be able to handle a pack of Mundanes....Could be an independent organization too, lots of people want to know how mutant dna and powers work..."

She moved slowly around the room, stooping to peer at the floors, trying to make out any tracks that she could while also cataloguing all she found on a separate page. "No blood so far, unless it's already dried," she announced to the others, using her gift to sense for any traces of water that would be found in blood, and also scanning by sight. There was a lot of damage, but thus far she saw nothing that would indicate a mortal wound. That was a relief at least. Judging by the clawmarks, a fair amount of the damage had been done by Morph while in one of his animal forms. A theory was beginning to form in her head, but she wanted more evidence before she'd voice it to the others.

"Find anything, Fury?" she called, hoping the task of looking for clues would keep Fury from losing her cool.

Fury stiffened slightly and glanced up at Mael's touch. She was rather glad that she was able to keep her electricity in check and not unleash it on her friend and teammate. the last thing she wanted to do was to hurt Maelstrom. She dropped her ruined mp3 player and sighed.

"Right, calm. Easier said than done." She muttered, glancing down at the sparks dancing on her fingertips. They slowly died down as she concentrated and then dissipated, though she could still feel a tingle on her skin.

The sound of Tempy reasoning out what might have or could have happened had Fury frown slightly. She tried to not take offense at the other thinking there could be others in the warehouse. Having spent years on the street and even more paranoid back then, it always kept her on edge and paying attention to every sound around her. She would have picked up on someone hiding in the warehouse waiting to ambush them. She didn't bring that up though; knowing that it wouldn't do any good to bring it up.

Fury's face screwed up slightly at Mael's teasing tone and words to Tempy. The teasing kind of went over her head, probably because she was more focused on figuring out what had happened. Multitasking wasn't one of her strong suits. She moved off and started to examine what she found without touching anything per Mael's request.

She took the far side of the warehouse, checking out the windows to see if they had been broken into. There didn't seem to be any sign of tampering with the locks or any broken glass which made her wonder if it had been a blitz attack from the back door or from another spot.

She moved to check out the back door, there were claw marks, possibly from Morph's claws in an attempt to get his way out. Fury huffed a rather annoyed look coming over her face. She glanced over the makeshift beds that appeared to have been torn apart and scattered.

She overheard Mael's question and stood up and ran a hand through her hair. "It looks like one of them was grabbed while they were sleeping. If I have to garner a guess, it might have been Maleko," She said with a sigh. "He's been sleeping more during the day since he switched to the night watch."

Fury moved over to the center of the room where the couches were located and then glanced up. "It looks like most of the action happened here, and the destruction could have been because things were thrown at the attackers." She said moving to follow the line of debris back to the bedroom area. "Yeah...I think they came in from above and caught them unaware. Mind giving me a boost up the skylight?" She asked looking over at Maelstrom.

The teasing of coarse went a bit unnoticed by her. When she did catch it she would somewhat joke back. She kept coming back to the bullet damage and how it just didn't seem like that would be something would have happened.

Keren let out a sigh, "No this doesn't feel right. It's almost.... almost like the shooting was to cover up what happened." She muttered to herself. "It isn't likely that someone could just get Shortcut to stay in the same place long enough to capture him. Unless he was like you said Fury, asleep."

Though she had spent a year on the streets Fury had more on her own belt. But the they all had trained to be aware of what was going on around them at all times. Well except for Morph who was still rather fresh to his skills. "We don't have anything that would be worth taking other then our powers. Some electronics, but those are here. We need to figure out where each of the boys started and follow their destruction. Morphs will most likely be easiest..." again as she spoke it was more like she making a note to herself then aloud to them.

"How they figure them out? How did it start?" she muttered to herself and went back outside to take a look around the building some. As she got to the back she noticed the few plants that was peaking though the concrete where damaged as if something heavy had been on them. "Hey girls, I think they got put into something heavier then a car or a normal truck." She said coming back to the closer door. "The only other option might be that Morph might have turned into an elephant. to make it leave a stronger mark. I don't think that's the case though. We could be looking at armored. I don't think the government would go to such lengths to hide a capture like this, and I'd think they'd be smart enough to know that they didn't get us all."

"A boost or a boost?" Mael inquired, her brow slightly popped and a smirk teasing the corner of her mouth. She had been practicing a lot with using water pressure and density as a form of transportation for herself, but she also had control over it, so it was easier for her to make it bend to her needs. Supporting someone else would be more challenging, but she figured she could do it if Fury wanted to try it. Even being a bit tall for a woman, she doubted she could give Fury enough of a boost for her to reach the mentioned skylight by normal means.

She was distracted momentarily by Tempest's musings and she jotted them down in her notebook. "Yes, you're right," she agreed, then added. "If we follow the theory of Shorty being the first grabbed, then Book would likely be next. He doesn't have any combat powers and though he has been trying to put on some muscle, he'd be no match against an organized operation, if that is what this is. And it is looking more and more like that's what we are looking at. Coming in from the skylight, the gunfire cover-up. Taking Shorty first would indicate that they were not only aware of us being mutants, but that they have knowledge of what our powers are, and knew where and how to strike to counteract them. What remains to be seen is whether or not they only intended to take the boys or if the attack had been meant for all of us. If the former, then it begs the question of why."

Her brow furrowed. "We are getting more questions than answers, it seems," she muttered, displeased by the picture that seemed to be painting itself of the events. Still, they needed to gather all the evidence. She perked up when Tempest came back inside and shared what she had discovered. "Morph would know better than to shift into something that would draw that much attention, so I think you're right, an armored vehicle is more likely. The government likely wouldn't go to those lengths, but an independent organization might. Especially if they wanted to keep their findings secret from the government. This stinks more and more like "illegal mutant testing" to me."

She turned back to Fury for her response on how she wanted to proceed, ready to summon up some water to lift her as long as she didn't mind getting her shoes a little wet.

Fury cocked her head to the side hearing Keren's muttering about the shooting not really matching up. The more she looked at it the more she agreed with Keren's assessment. It did seem misplaced and odd. "You are more than likely correct about that," She said with narrowed eyebrows.

Fury fell silent as she listened to Mael's supposition of what could have happened with the evidence they had. "There are all kinds of private companies that would use them as guinea pigs for testing purposes, that's not really hard to figure out. It's finding the company or party that's responsible for taking them that's going to be the hard part." She said with a sigh. "Though it does make me wonder how they found out about us, we were careful about not using our powers for anyone to see around here."

Fury got far too distracted in her own musings and thoughts to hear more of what Keren was muttering to herself. Though when Keren came back inside and told them about what she had found Fury looked over at the shorter female and frowned slightly. Mael's inquiry of what type of boost she was wanting got forgotten at the mention of an armored vehicle.

"That doesn't bode well at all," She said and let out a sigh at Mael's agreeing that it was more to do with a company wanting their friends as test subjects. "Those types of places are the worst," She said itching her arms again.

"Well with it being so high, a boost is probably more of what I will be needing. You have been practicing, after all, might as well put it to a proper test," She said glancing over at Mael with a slight grin.

"Boost away Mael," She added, readying herself as best as she could. She wondered if it would be anything like surfing a wave or if Mael's control of the water would make it sturdier than an actual ocean wave. It wasn't like they'd tried this before, and she couldn't help but feel a bit excited about trying something new. If Maelstrom could get this down well enough, climbing over walls would be a thing of the past.
