She's way too busy giving attention to the soft, cute, fluffy moth to really take note of Static's apprehension. It's being so cute and soft and sweet, popping and clicking its beak at her. She quietly made a few similar noises back before she actually felt Static's tension, then heard something that made her tense in a similar way.
"Good evening! I am Agent 3C-043-0029A, Handle: Pellam, of the Intergalactic Detainment Force. I'd like to ask you a few questions."
Lucienne jolts and the moth turns to look towards the source of the voice, as many of the milling moths did, giving Lucienne a view of who the voice came from. Pellam? The last time she remembers him was..... Not great stuff. Lots of scary things with bad people. This didn't look like him either, she felt it was safe to assume this isn't the same one. This place is weird enough for that to happen after all.
However, in response to how he introduced himself, and how different he looked, and just the general situation, Luci fluffs up pretty good. Any exposed fur or feathers puffs up in a similar way to how it did when she first encountered Static.(This may or may not tickle Static, because her feathers on her back and wings are gonna poof too).
Of everything she doesn't know, she has overheard the word "detainment" enough to know what that means. The rest is pretty lost on her but it sounds scary.
"W-what?...." Her ears flip down, and best she can she tries to make herself look big and scary (disclaimer: she looks fluffy) with Static on her back.
"Are you- Who- What are you doing here? What do you want?" Her voice betrays her nervousness and anxiety well enough now. She holds onto her staff, which at the moment looks like a mostly harmless not-very-long but pretty stick at this moment.
The moths around Pellam at least aren't alarmed. A few flick their strange looking tongues in his general direction, or try to even lick him a tiny bit, as if trying to figure out what he is and if he has anything sweet or tasty with him.

> Hostility of 2.0 Lifeform(s) has raised by 13.5%
Pellam couldn't help but sigh. This always seems to happen with two kinds of people: criminals, or people who have been hurt by criminals. Unfortunately those two classifications couldn't be more different.
"Please relax," he held up a hand to try and calm them down. "I'm only here investigating an inter-dimensional rift that has been causing minor disturbances in my equipment."
Casually, he crouched down to the small, fluffy child's height and switched behavioral protocols.
> Switch and engage BP12: Friendliness
"Have you seen anything strange around here?" Pellam said with a soft smile as he held out his hand to shake.

Pellam sighed. "Please relax. I'm only here investigating an inter-dimensional rift that has been causing minor disturbances in my equipment."
Static did relax slightly, but remained wary. Something about this just really didn’t sit right with him, and the responding instinct was to stay still and quiet.
"Have you seen anything strange around here?"
He made a face at that. Is this guy serious?? He was falling through the void for like two hours. There’s people from different worlds and glitchy landscape and a Beetle All Of The Things Are Strange.

"Please relax. I'm only here investigating an inter-dimensional rift that has been causing minor disturbances in my equipment."
Lucienne did not relax with that statement. She doesn't know what kind of disturbances he's referring to. Is there something new? Is it Static? Is it her? Or could it just be the nature of this weird place, this In-Between of in-betweens of all these different worlds?
Pellam comes closer. She tenses but doesn't do much else, not wanting to seem too outwardly hostile to him, but still being wary. He crouches down to address her. Some tiny voice in her head feels condescended to.
"Have you seen anything strange around here?"
Lucienne blinks.
She glances at Static best she can for a moment before turning back.
"Um.... So.... You're..... New here, then?...... Um...." She shifts on her hooves, looking at Pellam's outstretched hand with apprehension. A repeat of the Ada situation. "E-everything here is off... I mean, not right here, this place is normal, for my world anyways, but... I don't really know how to describe it. I can't understand exactly what's going on."
She taps her hoof, huffing at herself and trying to figure out how to say it. "This place is like a chimera... Bunch of different places all in one. This part is part of my home, but it's only a small part of the whole... Thing." She makes a round-ish motion with her hands.
"But we can't really stick around here. We have to go somewhere..." She trails off, stopping herself before saying anything too informative to this Pellam person. It's so weird. Everything's weird. Why are humans like this? Is this a human thing?...

"I only just arrived approximately 478 seconds ago!" Pellam smiled, but retracted his hand. He didn't blame the tiny fluff ball for not shaking. He hated the Friendliness Protocol, and he couldn't wait until the first opportunity to turn it off. All it did was tell people what they wanted to hear.
Regardless, he cataloged the information:
- Area considered "not right" and "off"
- Area considered normal (ERROR: contradictory statement)
- Area is a part of a larger mass
"I understand." Another standard reply. Pellam rose to standing again and looked around. No changes in local detected hostilities. "Is there a reason for relocating? I am happy to assist you and your companions reach a safe location if you're in danger."
God his face was starting to hurt from all this smiling.

Static squinted, ears still folded back. He could sense that this guy wasn't being genuine. And offering to escort them? Buddy, pal, you don't even know what this place is.
He opened his mouth to point out that the air is poison and they'd like to Not Die (as their reason for wanting to leave) but instead came out a burst of radio static that he tried to disguise as a coughing fit. Shit fuck he forgot how much easier it is to glitch when hes injured fuck. He's got to stay cool
"I don't think there is a safe location" he managed once he got that back under control, deadpan.

Lucienne makes a face at all the unnecessary words Pellam keeps adding to his statements. It makes him sound weird. She doesn't like it. It's dumb.
"Is there a reason for relocating? I am happy to assist you and your companions reach a safe location if you're in danger."
She scoffs and opens her mouth to retort, before cutting herself short as Static coughs in a highly concerning matter. She glances back to make sure he's ok. The coughing made her fur bristle a little, oddly enough, but she ignores that.
After he seems fine, she sighs and looks back to Pellam, straightening up herself, puffing up her chest, and crossing her arms. "I know perfectly well how to navigate through the Toxic Forest. I've been exploring it for years." Her ears flip back and she flicks her tail.
A fluffy moth lazily licks at Pellam's clothes and arm, wanting to know where he hides any treats.

That static was possibly the worst sound Pellam's ever heard.
It was a weird mechanical scraping, like nails on a chalkboard, in his processors that had him doubling over in pain and covering his ears. Luckily it was gone as soon as it came, but Pellam was still left rattled and panting from the pain of it.
"Clearly..." he gritted sarcastically-- oh oops. Knocked out of his friendliness protocol. Whatever. Obviously these two weren't safe for him, much less the rest of the area. "Can you just point me in the direction of the worst anomalies?" If the fluff knew her way around, she'd know where it was weirdest.
This whole time Pellam didn't pay no mind to the giant inquisitive moth friend he had. He has no treats, and while his skin felt organic, it certainly didn't taste like it. Technology had long since discovered how to synthetically replicate the human body, but accurately tasting the same as an organic human was never a priority.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry--" Static jumped down and rushed over to Pellam to try to help him back up, before realizing that might just make the problem worse and shrinking away. "I-- I mess with electronics sometimes I'm sorry, it's not, it's not usually this bad I--"
He decided to just shut up and let him and whatsername talk. He clearly wasn't being helpful.

Pellam suddenly doubled in on himself when Static had coughed. Lucienne bristled more, concerned by the reaction. Neither she nor Ada had such a reaction like that to Static yet.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry- I-- I mess with electronics sometimes I'm sorry, it's not, it's not usually this bad I--"
Static lept off of Luci to check if Pellam was ok, then shrunk back into himself, obviously feeling awful and blaming himself for that happening. Lucienne readjusts her wings then moves next to Static, and puts her hand on his back, not in an obligatory "calm down" sort've way, but in the fashion that a parent would put their hand on the back of their child who was stressed and overwhelmed and out of their element. She almost was hugging him when she addressed Pellam again.
"Can you just point me in the direction of the worst anomalies?"
"I don't know where any 'animalies' might be, but we really need to get somewhere, Mister Pellam -- a friend of ours is in desperate need of a recharge and the only place close enough to get it is that way," She motions ahead. "If you wish to join us, you can. I don't think you'd have the knowledge to successfully go through the forest alone and survive it."
The statement wasn't at all sassy or rude, she seemed to be speaking from a point of truth. She knows she is, at least, and hopes that he'll take her word for it.
