I thought it was fixed for me, but then it happened again. However, it seems to only affect certain items that are applied to the face for me, like eyes and eyebrows:
When I saved it, the items in the bottom slots were gone from the dressing room avatar, but the header and forum avatar showed everything, like I and mokalynn described before.
I changed and saved my avatar before testing again, and it still occurred. I am on a Windows 7 PC using the latest version of Firefox, if that helps.

Hopefully this will help, so I went in and checked- if I put something on in the All category without searching, the popup works, but if I search or go to any of the categories, the problem arises again like above.

I just checked, and what Dread said is the case for me as well - if I just look for items and try to add them without filtering, the pop-up comes up, but if I go to "Face," for example, it does allow me to add over my slot limit.

I think Dreadnoughtus and Hyperion are right. I looked through the unfiltered pages for something I was already wearing and it didn't let me put it on, but when I filtered to just tops and chose the same item it put it in a new slot even though they were all full. The same thing happened with a face item.

Thanks a bunch, everyone! I'll try to get a bug fix for this as soon as I can.

Hey, just wanted to let you guys know that this is apparently still happening? I keep getting it by accident.
I don't filter clothing by tops/bottoms/feet or anything most of the time, I usually use the search bar. But I keep getting this thing where I build an avatar, it saves, and then when the dressing room reloads I notice that the dressing room avatar is missing a mouth or something to be down to the correct number of slots.... but my actual avatar keeps all the extra stuff.

[@Shazzbaa] Yeah, I just did as you described and typed in "wide" (for Wide Blue Eyes like I'm wearing) to the search bar, and it allowed me to add more eyes, expanding my slot count. The same thing you described happened after I saved, too. :(

Yeah, unfortunately I haven't been able to find an effective fix for the bug yet. :(

[@Diana] If this helps, it seems like only what Shazz and I just described is the only way it happens now. I couldn't get extra slots to appear in the ways I described when I first started the thread.

Yup, from my experience it's only the search bar causing the issues? Heck, even if I search, if I then change categories with that search, it no longer works, and I think search bar + then changing pages also doesn't work.
So it's most likely linked to when the search bar updates the items you can select, since changing the items you can select any other way (changing pages, changing category filters) prevents you from going over the limit.
Hopefully the bug stops hiding itself and you can find a fix soon! ;u; Not being able to find issues is awful. D:>
