So names seem to be a key to this story; both Mawnite and Castwick were set free when Hero and Witch called out their names.
I'm going to cut straight to the point.
[@The Hero] : We all haven't known you for very long, and I understand from what you have said before that this is rude to ask, but we need to know; do you know your name? If you do, will you share it with us?
If you won't /can't tell us your name, can you at least tell us why you won't/can't?
Names seem to be very, VERY important in your world, far, FAR more important than they are in ours. You know all of our names, and have since the moment you met us. What meaning do names have to you?

What a strange question! Of course I know my own name!
...Is this a trick to steal my name from me? Names have power over the people who use them. A name is the truth of who you are. It's personal.

[@The Hero] Thank you for your answer. I won’t further push for what your name is, then. But what do you mean by “steal” it? Where we come from, you can’t steal a name. It just..... isn’t a thing that can happen. Which is why we so freely use our names, and tell them to anyone who asks. You know that my name is, Novu, for instance, and I freely give that to you.
Why does everyone from your realm hide their name? What can people do with names that would be bad?

What strange questions you travelers bear... A name is just - it's private. You don't go showing strangers your private parts do you? Please don't.
I don't even know who this poor role is that everyone keeps referring to!

Damsel was a Thespian, like you, who died a long time ago. Do Thespians ever tell each other their names? Maybe if they're in a relationship?

So THAT'S who she is! Thank you for telling me, kind stranger. She must have been a popular role for the others to speak so highly of her, but I can't recall ever seeing her performances. Ah well.
Names are shared between close family and loved ones, yes. It takes a great deal of trust to earn such a secret from anyone not related to you, though! There could even be married couples who have not shared their true names.
