Just here for the quest. Though I highly recommend Fire Logic by Laurie J. Marks and the sequel books by the same author. They were fantastic reads when I was younger :)

Miranda, if you want us to tell you a story, we can definitely tell you a story. You need not be coy about it.
Once upon a time, a young bookworm discovered that by associating with a University she could be paid to work around books. At first this was sheer joy. After a while, however, it became clear that she was finding it a torment to be around so many books without the time and freedom to read them. Shortly before despairing, Lycus handed her a device for listening to audiobooks which had been donated to his lab. Since then she has been cheerful all the days long.
The end.

I just began on a new job. It consists of putting plastic on library books and it's much better than it sounds. The only drawback is that, when I close my eyes to sleep, I'm still putting plastic on books :)

anyone read short stories? Nine Stories in particular?

In theory I like short stories. In practice I have no idea where to find the good ones. But I do want to find some because it's nice with a short finished plot.
