Hey, so if you weren't aware, Rayne (the gorgeous lass with the cobalt hair) is a doll. Literally. How does that work? Well, here's some info that I'll go into further detail about down below! [/b]Her entire body, including her bones, internal "organs" and eyes are all woven thread. Naturally, this thread is not your average cotton or wool blend, though it is unclear what exactly it is (because she's keeping that information close to the chest). The threads and the weave are both so fine that they aren't often noticed unless one takes a powerful magnifying glass to her skin or examines a wound. Speaking of wounds... [b]Wounds heal over time as threads reweave themselves.[/b] Even without Rayne's direction, the threads will mend any rips in the body, whether external or internal. Thus far the mends have been perfect, with no evidence that the damage ever took place. The healing process can be sped up by sewing the wound closed, much like using stitches or bandages on a human. [b]Several layers of "skin" cover fine "stuffing" and a skeleton w/muscular structures.[/b] Any "extra" thread that Rayne does not need at the moment to move or make up her body is stored inside her body, padding her internal structures and providing a layer of protection for her muscles and bones. [b]Rayne's body is warmer than a human's.[/b] Unlike a human's average body temp of 98 degrees (36 Celsius), Rayne's internal body temperature averages about 113 degrees (45 Celsius). However, because of how well her body is insulated, one who touches her would not notice right away unless they had prolonged contact with her. Should she ever be cold to the touch, that would be a sign that something is very wrong with her. [b]She does not need food or sleep to live, but derives energy from both.[/b] Like any living thing, Rayne needs energy to move her body around. She can gain it passively by simply sitting still, but she can regain it much more quickly by eating food. Drinking provides her body with all the moisture it needs (something she cannot synthesize herself) and sleep allows her to recharge much like it does for anyone else. She does indeed dream, mostly lucidly but she has since learned how to let her mind play what it wants...for better or worse. [b]Rayne is vulnerable to slashing attacks and fire.[/b] These are not the only ways to harm her, of course, but they are the most notable as she is weaker to them than most other methods of damage. Slashing easily rips her body, but she can always pull herself back together given enough time no matter how many pieces she's cut into. Burning, however,destroys her threads and would surely prove fatal. Given what her threads are made of, it's unclear how resistant her body would be to the Tatters. [b]Tensile strength of the threads is similar to steel.[/b] Fairly self-explanatory, though this is prone to change should Rayne enact her will on a thread to change its properties. Natural thread is somewhat elastic and resistant to tearing. ([i]Listen, it's been a looooong time since chemistry class so I don't remember a lot about this kind of thing[/i]) [b]Rayne can control the threads of her body individually and in groups.[/b] This is why she is able to heal her wounds (though this is done passively) and change her appearance at will. She can separate a thread from her weave and manipulate it like a tendril, and can do this with any number of her threads. Theoretically, she could do this to her entire body, but she won't because putting yourself back together after that sounds like a lot of work. She can tell where all the threads of her body are at any given time, and can use the sensations she feels through the thread to guide it back to her. If there is a range to this sense, it has not yet been found (not that she's tried to find it). [b]Rayne can change the color, texture and makeup of her body by manipulating her threads.[/b] She can imitate the appearance and properties almost any kind of solid material, provided she knows enough about them. She can make changes to her body in infinite ways, but thus far only trusts herself to mimic the changes others around her have already made with either illusions, magic or simple ability. She can make feathers, scales, wings and extra appendages with ease, though it does take time and practice to learn how to manufacture new features. She never bothers to replicate clothing, instead using her abilities to change her body itself.
