There is nothing quite so aggravating as receiving a quest for items that you can't get the patterns for because your crafting level is too low.
Even more frustrating is when you finally manage to bump your level up, in the process wasting most of your shards, and by some miracle you find the pattern you need-!
And then you're forced to watch it disappear within a minute because you couldn't afford to buy it.
Two more levels in tailoring to have the opportunity to find the second expensive pattern I need to complete the quest! OH BOY!

ooh so something you should know is that you can buy patterns for clothing at any level! with tailoring, it’s the materials you need to level up to buy. It’s the opposite of cooking where you have to be a certain level for recipes, but you can buy all ingredients at any level.
While you need to be a certain level to buy the materials, you can always buy them off of the market place no matter your level, and you can also use kith activities and send your kith to buy them at any level!
so really as long as you have all of the stuff required, you can make any pattern at any level!

I...did not...know...you could send your kith to do things...
Let me just crawl into my corner of shame as I figure out what, exactly, I can have my little Mawnite hunt down...

aw that’s alright, sometimes it takes time to find these things out! i’m not sure if it’s mentioned in the tutorial button for the kith page, so it can be easy to miss.

Yeah, it's not super obvious - I know the staff have been told that it's a little hidden, so hopefully it can be made more clear in the future!
That being said materials tend to be more available to buy than high level recipes - sometimes they're not in stock in the marketplace, but the forums are pretty good for buying them too.
ON A MORE ON TOPIC NOTE
gosh i just want the thespian apparels please give me the quests npcs
tfw u have the items but they won't give you the quest you want ;O;

I'm getting a few of these at levels 2 and 3, it's surprising how unbalanced the randomization is.

[@Lesivel] This is actually being worked on by staff! It’s slow, because it takes a ling time to edit quests, but they’re being rebalanced so they have different % chances of appearing. So far, Andre and Jay’s quests have been edited, I believe.

Well, thank goodness for that. It was getting pretty disheartening, but I think I've got the hang of things now! :D
