I think a lot of our problems are actually just... normal issues except amplified to a point where it gets weird. Maybe that's why.

Though, all of the points you've been making so far seem like they could apply to anyone, honestly?

Looks like I'm not the only one with Aspbergers.
That's totally Ok!
At least someone might understand me.

Hello fellow Aspie! It's great to find others on the spectrum (especially on your favorite website). :D
If there's something you don't really have an answer to, feel free to tag me in this AMA.

Now I have a question for you friend:
What is your favourite type of stim? Mine is soft things. Or bubble minky. My god that stuff is like the best thing ever.

[@Sefria] I'm sorry for not getting back sooner!
Well, if we're talking about personal space still, the inverse can apply as well. Aspies, due to not really understanding social cues, can oftentimes end up invading others' person 'bubble', you know?
Additionally, when I say these traits that apply to anyone, what I mean is, well, it applies even moreso for Aspies. No one likes being tapped when they're in a bad mood, but Aspies even moreso.

That's.. A good question, actually. When it comes to stims I have this blanket--a super old one, actually, from when I was a baby--that I can't help but rub between my fingers, even when I'm not feeling stressed. It's not that it comforts me, honestly, it just feels nice I guess.

Oh I totally love soft things when not stressed too. It's just something that's nice and relaxing. I have this huge stuffed Pikachu from elementary school that I just take the stuffing out and wash the outside and stuffing separate then re-stuff so its nice and clean. I really like how the fabric from it feels.

Is it just me, though, or are there certain textures we cannot stand? Like, I hate mashed potatoes with a passion; the taste is fine in my opinion, but the texture is horrid for me.
I remember that, also, when I was younger, I used to be terrified of stepping into grass.

*joins thread as another one in the Aspergers syndrome rainbow* I am listed as high functioning autistic and when I was little I got to hear doctors claim I'd not amount to much. Now in 2017 I've been ten years outta high school *one of the things I was told I'd never succeed in, in terms of graduating*. Nowadays I hope to make a videogame that makes as big a splash as my idol Satoshi Tajiri's Pokemon franchise has. He also happens to be Aspergers syndrome too!

Oh my goodness I loathe instant mashed potatoes so much. They have this weird after taste that just does not go away! I really don't like slimy textures and I cannot stand spicy food. Like, black pepper can be too spicy for me.
[@Kyariel]
I actually wasn't diagnosed until the end of my freshman year of high school. I can pass for neuotypical thanks to my parents working really hard with me to at least somewhat understand social cues. I don't understand why people just assume those on the spectrum or with other developmental disabilities can't have productive lives. Like, yes, there are some people who will always need help with basic tasks and needs, but they deserve to be encouraged and live a fulfilling life! Don't just assume someone will never be able to support themselves or contribute to society. I'm really happy that you proved them wrong and are working towards your ambitions.
I really don't know what I'm going to do long term. I want to become a master-class cosplayer (craftsmanship competitions are my jam) at least as a hobby but otherwise I'm not sure.
