I timed myself playing memory and came to the conclusion that one round of level four takes roughly five minutes and gives me around 300 shards. So, a little under ten minutes of memory would give you around 600 shards, but that doesn't include getting TO that level. Add a score of 125 for level 3 and you have around 725 shards.
I timed myself playing the airplane game for 10 minutes. I earned 753 shards.
I timed myself playing Hoof It for 10 minutes and got around 711 shards. I do not like Hoof It that much.
It seems like airplane game has the best payout per minute spent for me, which surprised me a lot.
I'm very tired of games right now, so I've only run each test once. A real scientist runs tests over and over . . . :P But I'm tired of games right now.

I'm still very new to this site, but that seems to be the general consensus. It's what works best for me. I also try to keep certain items stocked in the market place, but it doesn't seem to be very profitable yet either. Either that or I don't know what I'm doing yet.
The nice thing about airplane is that it's kind of brainless and I can do it while watching Netflix or Youtube or something. It also apparently doesn't run on flash, so I can play it on my phone as well by putting the game into full screen mode. Works on the others as well.

This depends a lot on your speed with various things. A round of lvl 4 memory takes me just a tad over 2 minutes.
On paper airplane, my highest score yet is now 4 trees before crashing.
Hoof-It is hard to tell because I tend to get frustrated and deliberately fail before my memory fails, and so my numbers are all skewed.
It's really a very individual thing, though, because as you can see, for me personally Memory is *MUCH* better payout than paper airplane.

i did something similar and got a little over 100 shards a minute for memory levels 2+3 and paper airplane on hard. level 4 on memory was a bit lower, and hard is the only paper airplane level that i think is worth it in terms of the shards to effort ratio.

I'm just boss at paper airplane because of flappy bird. I played that SO MUCH when it was still popular!
Oh man! I just realized that if I played it on my phone, it would be JUST LIKE flappy bird! Sooo cooooolllll.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you find a certain stage of Memory easier than others, you can just keep doing that one over and over. I average over 100 shards a minute easily by repeating the second stage of Memory over and over, but struggle with the higher stages a lot.

During the 2x payout period, I used to farm the third stage, but I got tired of the post-clearing freeze glitch and now I just replay the last stage.

I think I successfully got past 1 tree in the airplane game. And it stresses the everlasting heck out of me so even though it's a big moneymaker it soooo isn't worth it for me.
Hoof It's OK, but requires more attention than I'm usually able to give it. So I just stick with the Memory game. And hopefully there will be some new things I can play eventually. :)

I tested the second level of memory! Played for 8 minutes and earned 676 shards for 84.5 shards per minute if my math is right.
