...?? I mean.. yeah? I only tagged him now because I wanted to apologize for my behavior?
(and for the record, I genuinely didn't notice until he mentioned speecifically I was tagging him that hitting the quote " symbol when you want to reference someone's post/comments also automatically includes code to tag them. So, um, sorry?)

Hey everyone, a friendly reminder from the staff to keep discussion civil and refrain from insults, please. The Suggestions Forum is here for any and all ideas, as well as constructive criticism of those ideas.
If someone asks not to be tagged in a thread anymore, please respect their wishes. You can also use the Block feature if you need space away from another user.
Let's keep debate polite and productive!

That's a really good point and clarifies things better. Wasn't able to think from that perspective but you're right and it makes a lot of sense now. Fair enough! Then, yeah, maybe the idea clashes too much.
Also thank you for all the tips!! I.. do admittedly draw a bit myself, but I'm extremely insecure about my art and skills... I'd feel kinda guilty charging if I'm not even pleased with the work myself.
...in hindsight, I do recall some of my professional friends and their mentors have mentioned before though that they themselves have done works they're not too fond of but still pushed their way through to finishing it for the sake of commissions.
I know the former is a miserable mindset for me to have and it's something I think I'll have to jot down to remind myself to keep in mind more often. (Can you tell from all these posts that my desk is basically covered in post it notes? I'd forget my head if it was attached, I stg)

TW's attention to lore and world-building means it would feel really weird to me to have a side-hustle where I would go off and learn a whole other language on a whole other site for shards and have it not tie into TW at all. (And I will reiterate, this is not a tie-in I would enjoy even as I person who likes languages and DuoLingo.)

I appreciate that you wanted to apologize, but regardless of your intentions, please respect other people's requests. Sometimes people need space to themselves before they can come back to a topic if they want to re-engage.

Thank you for taking time to hear my side of things. I know when you're in the throes of a New Idea, it's hard when other folks aren't as excited about it as you are, and harder to process their reasoning. I appreciate that you were able to slow down and try to see things from my point of view!
And I feel ya on being insecure about artwork. But I remind myself, that if someone has looked at my art and decided it's worth money to them, it would be rude be like "Yeah, my art is garbage, I can't believe anyone would pay money for this!" Same rule for compliments about my art. If I'm feeling low and someone says something nice about my work, even a self-deprecating shrug and "eh, it's not very good" is like telling them that you think they're dumb for liking it. You probably don't mean it that way, but believe me, that's the feeling on the other side! It's hard sometimes to be quiet when self-doubt is shouting so loud in my head, but over time, by not letting doubt speak and listening to other people's words, doubt's voice has gotten quieter.
Ultimately, my advice is, if you think it's something you'd enjoy doing, give commissions a shot.
