UI Suggestions
Tutorial TutorialUI Suggestions 7
So I had a few things that I think would be better, user interface-wise. Just a few suggestions:
First, I mentioned before in the feedback thread, but I'd really, really like to see each of the menu items actually go to a page. Especially the second-level menu items, like Cooking, Quest, Inventory, or Marketplace.
Second suggestion: Add a "Decline" button on the quest pop up, so you don't have to go to the quest page in order to decline one of them. Obviously only for the hourly quests, but it would be nice not to have to go to an entirely other page if I'm looking at the quest already. (Also, this would make it easier to accept a quest to see if I have the item, then immediately decline it if I don't.)
Third suggestion: When waiting for your one minute timer to finish counting down in shops, if we click on an item, still tell us how many of that item we have. That way, if we don't need more of whatever it is, we'd know without having to go into the inventory or waiting 'til the minute is up.
Fourth suggestion, connected: It may not be possible, but a countdown of how long 'til our one minute timer is up after buying something? Possibly only appearing if we click on a new item - instead of "You must wait 1 minute before making another purchase" it will say "You must wait 47 seconds before making another purchase."
Fifth suggestion: Also may not be possible, but I'd love to see how many of an ingredient I have in the kitchens somehow, particularly on the recipe card. Not sure how you'd format this one, though, but it'd be really nice.
Just a few things I'd been thinking about and thought I'd suggest. :) Hope you consider them!
Edit: Sixth suggestion: Forgot about this one! The time on private messages does not match up with the time on the site clock. Neither does it match up with my local time, however. Perhaps fix the PM time stamp to be in CHT? For instance, the message I just sent says it was sent at 4PM, CHT says it's 19:00 (7 PM), and local time is 6PM. Looks like forum post time stamps are also at the same time as PMs.
Second Edit: Seventh suggestion: Something I thought about, then forgot, but Poison mentioned - let us preview apparel items if the cooldown isn't up. Especially important for uncommon and rare items, since you don't have much time to decide if you're going to buy it!
Which makes me think of an eighth suggestion: The ability to preview apparel from the item BBC code. I know this one might not be possible without a lot of coding, but as far as I know, the only way to preview something is to either see it in the shop or have it in your inventory. You can't preview an item from someone else's gallery, for instance, or from the marketplace.
And ninth, from Poison again: Remove cooldown on Headmaster's gem items, if possible. As she said, it only comes up if you buy a shard item first, not another gem item. So possibly a bug?

Agree with all of the above!!!
Also,
PERPLEXINGLY, we had this, in the very first version of the shops. When the shops were temporarily changed to no longer auto-refresh, that feature was removed...... everywhere but Nicholas' shop. I brought it up with staff, hoping the feature could come back, and they assured me that it'd be looked into after the shops were reworked.
The shops were reworked with the individual timers, though, and the Headmaster's Office was still the only page that counted down "you must wait half a minute, you must wait 20 seconds, you must wait less than 10 seconds" each time you clicked on an item.
This was brought up as a desired feature in Suggestions at least three or four times, and I'd generally point to running to the Headmaster's Office as a workaround.
THEN, sQld noticed this happening in the Headmaster's Office, brought it up as a bug, and @Diana replied in that thread saying that it was indeed a bug and needed to be fixed. However, only the 30 seconds message, specifically, seems to have been removed -- the 20 seconds remaining and the 10 seconds remaining messages still show up normally.
So, it seems possible, and kind of exists, but maybe it's only possible in the headmaster's shop??? and staff seems to view it as a bug rather than a feature, sO UH..... IM NOT REALLY SURE

@Shazzbaa - Oh, that is so interesting! Huh! I just had to go test it out, haha. :P
Well, I hope they add it back in some form - it'd be really nice, though I make do right now by using timers. (I do foresee leaving the Headmaster's Office open in a tab, though, to do quick checks. :P)
(Also, sorry for bringing up a suggestion that had already been brought up before! I skimmed the first few pages of the suggestion forum, but didn't see it, though I did guess it had been mentioned before. I also swear I saw the one about ingredient counts on recipes in the past, but again, didn't find it.)

I 100% agree and was actually going to make a thread with most of these suggestions myself
I would like to add to the shops though, to allow preview still if you are in your minute cooldown...
Also regarding the cooldown it doesnt actually happen in headmasters office unless you have purchased elsewhere... Which seems like a bit of a bug, because you have to wait 1 min to buy from the headmasters office if you bought from another shop first, but then you could make 10 purchases from the office within a minute without having to cooldown

@Poison I just bought one of the accessibility packs and got the cooldown immediately after. Maybe it's a shard-item only cooldown?
Either way, I do think the Office shouldn't have a cooldown at all - since it otherwise discourages lots of gem purchases, which could then potentially lead to less people buying lots of gem items.
So rather than "fixing" the cooldown to match, removing it entirely from the Office?
(But this is a bit off topic from UI changes so whoops)

@Himochi Ahh yes I just bought accessibilty and it activated cooldown
So cooldown doesnt activate for gem purchases, and it is kinda related because cooldown timer was mentioned lol
