For my tip, I'd definitely say, be sure to use your wishlist!! There's a lot of generous players on the site, who like to give people gifts off their wishlist - especially to newbies. It's also a nice way to keep track of items you need for quests or things you're doing!

Another mini tip for if you want to make nice avatar outfits is to buy premade custom clothing, too. There's a list of user shops that sell custom clothes here. It's a nice way to get some clothes to use without having to tailor them, and the items are always in stock, so you don't need to wait for restocks!
