Welcome welcome welcome! I love this little exchange between the sites we have going on! THIS NEWBIE GUIDE does a pretty good job of explaining some of the basics, as well as linking to the tutorial. As for general tips-
Posting on the forums gives 50 shards per new post/reply limited to once a minute, so its a little incentive to chat a bit (or play forum games)
For the quests, some hourlies are easier/more profitable than others. THIS GUIDE lists the quest rewards. Dailies are good to keep your rep up- the more quests you do with the shopkeepers, the more friendly they get, but you do lose one rep a day, so dailies balance that out. Most dailies either cost a few shards or are free. Finally unique quests are special stories (there is an event running right now with an event as well so good timing!)- they may be difficult, but are all definitely worth it!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
