Hey everyone, I'm pretty new here, since I just signed up yesterday evening.
I am the type of person to enjoy listening to people on YouTube talk about games and websites that I play/have played. The other night I searched for videos about Neopets (which I have played sporadically from the early 2000s to today, having to start over many times due to either accounts getting frozen or me forgetting the username/password), and stumbled upon Pet Simmer Julie (a name I've seen mentioned many times here), and learned from her videos that there are a lot of newer virtual pet games out there like this one.
So far it seems really cool here. I've already been working on accumulating shards to coordinate complete outfits for my avatar (which reminds me of Gaia, in a good way). I'm still learning about the nuances of raising my first kith's stats, but I'm basically keeping myself busy with quests and games.
The Paper Airplane game is challenging but also relaxing, I can play it while listening to music/videos/podcasts, etc.
I'm still trying to figure out the story mode. If I'm not mistaken, there are other areas I can explore besides Hope University that have their own shops and things, but I need to complete more quests to unlock that content? I've been reading things about the Enchanted Forest and I've seen some avatars with really unique gear that I haven't seen so far in the regular NPC stores.
Anyway, I have an abundance of free time on my hands lately, so I can see myself sticking around for sure.

Welcome welcome welcome! Paper airplane is also my go-to game- I can play it while watching youtube videos fairly successfully!
Yes, the Enchanted Forest will unlock after you complete the story quest line for it- or more accurately, you will receive a scanner that when used will unlock the area, so if you want to get there a bit quicker, you can search for a scanner on the marketplace. Its the Discovering the Enchanted Forest quest line, but you may have to complete the other one before it. There are unique recipes, apparel, and toys in the shops in the Enchanted Forest, and more NPCs!

@Dreadnoughtus Thanks for the welcome and the quick (and helpful) response to my questions! That's neat about the Scanner. I'll admit, it's a bit of a challenge to find these quest items since it looks like there aren't always that many people selling things, and the NPC shops don't have everything at once. The Scanner is a bit pricey but I am not opposed to grinding a bit for it!

The quest items can definitely be a bit of a challenge, but I still definitely recommend doing them, even if they take awhile. You can also check the marketplace forum- sometimes people don't list stuff in the actual marketplace, but will be willing to sell it as well. And there is no time limit to the quests anyways, so you can take your time as well!

@Dreadnoughtus Oh yeah, I definitely plan on doing as many quests as I can. It does make me wonder, though, why would someone decline a story quest? Especially when, as you said, there's no downside to keeping the quest in an active state as you continue to look for the items. I did notice the marketplace (I actually want to buy gems soon for more avatar slots), but haven't delved too deep into it yet.

There isn't really a reason to decline story quests, although some people *cough*me*cough* have accidentally declined them before- that was before they were in their own separate tab though. I do decline hourly quests a lot if they seem they aren't going to be worth it- declining hourlies doesn't hurt you at all, and you might get an easier one the next hour. And the more quests you do, the friendlier the NPCs get towards you/open up new hourly quests to do!
And yeah, I have invested in quite a few golden hangers to unlock more apparel slots- as far as I know, there are no limits on the amount of slots you can buy though, which is pretty cool!

Welcome! I'm kind of new...been here about a week or so. The Enchanted Forest quest line is long...I'm still working on it! I wanted to unlock it myself though.
